| Well this is the current project for this mower. The double pulley clutch. I took off all the old clutch and idler pulleys and I realized just how long the belt really is. I figure since I need to get rid of some of the length somehow and the deck belt is too short. I might just have to put a bigger pulley on the front. I might put a 6 inch or so. It would make it faster by a bit but mostly just get rid of some of that annoying slack that gets in the way of the steering. | |

| To lazy to go work on the clutch for now and I also need some parts. I have no idea where to find "cheap" pulleys because a slightly bigger one for the front would help for sure. Anyways. I didn't really like having just simply the hand throttle moved down so I broke the rivet off, fabbed up a new piece of metal that would just slide right in place that was way heavier duty and welded a peg to it so I can hold it down more easily. Then I just drilled some stuff out and replaced it with a bolt. | |

| I like that foot throttle design of yours a lot. How is it getting to the brake pedal? | |

| Yeah, not gonna lie it's a little tricky to get tot he brake, You kid have to just lift your foot off the gas and use your heel to push on it. I might be able to re position the gas pedal sometime if I want to. | |

| Right so, haven't done much on this but today I this in metalwork. Its a intake kinda like Rich's. It still needs the mounting holes and I need to make a little elbow for the breather to go into the side of it. I am not too sure what I need to do about the little hole that isn't threaded though. Is it a bowl breather? DO I need to tie it into the intake or can it just be shut off? Also, whats the hole that's sticking out for? All that's really left is, Finish wiring Finish the 2P clutch Beef up the steering Put the links onto the front axle. test it out and I might have to change my shocks for lighter ones | |

| Yeah I'm pretty sure those are vents, but I'm not positive. One will be for the fuel pump. | Briggs opposed carbs have a built in pulse pump, that's what the peice on the front is with the plate bolted to it. | Hahaha. Nice filter adapter by the way! For what it's worth a small round air cleaner like I had on the Briggs single in the MTD would look better than a cone filter. Those always look pretty neat, haha. | But I like cone filters, especially since I can easily modify it if I don't like it and make it into a snorkel with some tubing pretty easily. | |

| I wanna say the one closest to the carb inlet is for the bowl and the other might be for the fuel pump. | Just a quick idea about the brake/gas pedal arrangement. Maybe cut the gas pedal so it's shorter/narrower (the pipe part) and then add a slight extension to the brake pedal?
Then you might be able to use the tip of your foot more to reach everything instead of your heel on the brake. Maybe possibly...
And If you need more grip, I always take nuts, usually 1/4", and you can spot weld them onto your pedals for traction. Burn them in hot though, because the weld likes to go for the inside of the nuts and then they won't bite in enough. Aim your welder in the center and get a good burn. You can weld on the outside too but looks cleaner if you just weld in the center.

| Ok so I would need to make it so the bowl went ties into the new intake? Thanks for the pedal suggestions but I will ride with it for now and if I don't like it I will modify them accordingly.

| The top one is a carb filter mountimg hole, next one is a bowl vent like mighty said. I had a snorkel on an oppy and covered up the vent and I was always running lean or stalling out, then I found out that was a vent and remade my adapter and it worked fine. You could take a grinder and make a little slot over the vent hole and run the slot inwards to the carb barrel, that would be enough for the vent to get pressure release. | |

| Looks pretty cool muck! I might suggest maybe adding a secondary attatchment point for the axle like so: That would essentially make they into long arms like these: You would just need two more joints for where the shorter link connects to the main one to give a point of twist so the arms won't just bind up. That'd be a super solid setup and really, if you did that and fabbed up a track bar, you could get rid of the axle pivot. | Yep! I was definitely considering that. It's just that the tie rod gets in the way. Maybe if I have some rod ends to spare some time I might find a way to make it fit though. | |

| Yeah I noticed it might sorta be in the way. You could however make up some new steering arms and mount the tie rod out front so it wouldn't be in the way. | Yes I could. I will see how it goes. I already notice way less play in the steering just by pushing it around the yard. | |
