2019 Top Tractor Challenge, 8/17 - 8/18 [ATLTF Official Event]

It honestly would probably be easier for someone that knows the place to scout the stuff out since it is 800 acres or so

That's not a horrible idea to have some sort of competition at Haspin. It's a pretty big place and I don't think we would get in anyone's way any more than we would with normal running around.

One idea would be to have a point to point race. Start everyone at a far corner of the property and then take any route you want back to the finish line. There would be no course to set up and it wouldn't even have to be timed. Just would need a few sharp eyes on the finish line and a video camera to review would be nice. That would be pretty easy. You could even do several from different directions.

There's a couple of dry creek beds that would be nice to follow for that. Some rougher ground would even things up a bit for the slower machines. Since there wouldn't have to be much setup time, you could kinda eye ball a rough route and we could just decide, ok, it's gonna be from here to here.

You could also throw in a hill climb or something too, there's plenty of spots for that sort of thing.

Id say it wouldnt be to hard to scout a short course the first day, maybe half mile? just spit balling here. My idea is how we used to do our woods tractor races, we had "pro lines" hills or bogs that were shortcuts to the regular course, so if you didnt want to do the hard stuff you could go around and it usually only cost ya about 20 seconds to take the slow longer route. that way guys like the mowrons can still race and be competitive but makes it so a taller bigger tractor is just as competitive Just set some cameras up at the harder obstacles. Maybe make it heats of 4 tractors, top 1 or two advance to the feature? time trials are fun too but theres nothing quite like wheel to wheel to get your blood pumping

Well heck boys let’s make it happen I usually am one of the firsts to get their, we can all just scout out some trails riding during the week and all agree on something come Saturday, like you said Tom just put up a camera at the most difficult obstacles and have different routes, probably not a full top tractor challenge but just some sort of challenge I’ll pitch in some prizes or trophies

You guys are rocking it. Love all the ideas. Pretty sure though trails out there can be TTC grade and points can be carried over the @redzz02 TTC. The series can begin today. There maybe a few guys in Michigan that want to play. Ill now more on Aug 31 when a visit to there swamp to find out who is top dawg in the swamp. Can imagine its going to be a very cool battle between the swamp and the grass drags.

FYI i would be an utter blast to go and spend a week down their anytime this year to find cool places. As a matter of fact I may do this anyway. Take a trailer and fuel and hit it. OMG!

Out in the back where you split your pulley @redzz02 would probably be a good area. I remember that area being pretty nice and decent. All the area near camp is getting pretty gross and impassible with how quickly the terrain changes there. Between the rain eroding stuff and them running bulldozers around, what obstacle may be there one month may not be there or be inaccessible the next.

@Mister_Studabaker I would like to keep this one separate from my event, too much work for being on vacation, and I’m no event planner I’m down to help out but I’m not spending my whole half a week at haspin dedicated to this. I spent an entire week up camp before the ttc and I didn’t get to relax one bit, I don’t want to repeat that at haspin 2020

@Doug if we can remember how to get there I’m down.

The rigorous life of a race promoter lol. It is a lot of work to set things up though.

Hopefully I'll have a good tow vehicle by june next year and then I'll be good to go.

My thing is haspin isn’t my shindig that’s the mowrons, @stretch44875 and @therainbowboxer .  I will be at haspin 2020 and I will 100% help out with what needs to be done to get a competition going, but I have no interest in stepping on anyone’s toes or putting together a full blown event. I will volunteer to film it all but we will not have Andrew with the fancy camera like at my ttc. We have over 6 months to figure it all out, It will be a blast no matter what

Looks like I cut the back of my arm on the edge of my hood rack when it flipped. That's what I figured lol.

It was quite the flip over.

I didn't know that thing flipped so quick. I was more concerned with making sure I didn't get hit. I stood on the seat as per usual simplicity adventure edition protocol for steep hills. Got 3/4 of the way over the tank trap and I think the front wheels might have just cleared the top edge. I'm not sure but I think I leaned ahead just a little and took the weight off the back wheels. That was a mistake, they lost grip and started to spin. I slid backwards till the back wheels caught the dirt at the bottom. That's when it flipped and I bailed. Might be more angles of the flip too, there were more camera's around.

Looking forward to seeing more footage!

@TheBeal @AllisKidD21 thanks guys I really like how this one turned out!

@mr.modified I nick named that obstacle the “wall” after the rain it made it super slick and gave everyone a little more trouble than I was expecting, but I have multiple angles of everyone throughout the events!

The first actual raw competition video will be up in the next two days!

Yeah I think the rain made a big difference. But, I think it did make a decent competition and made for a well rounded test.

big big shout out to all the drivers and the amazing builds they brought with them, everyone did an outstanding job and im proud of you guys!

once again i would like to thank everyone that has helped, supported, and watched the TTC2019. I hope to host the 2020 Top Tractor Challenge and have even better courses and 1 up this years event. ultimately this has to be my most favorite thing i have personally experienced on my off road tractors, maybe this will inspire some to build even better mowchines and hopefully spark interest in others to start hosting their own Top Tractor Challenges or other off road tractor events. im looking forward for what the 2020 race off road season has to offer!
