| Subject: Haspin 2018, June 6th-10th, Mowercycle (mowrons!) gang. Where: Haspin Acres, located in Laurel, IN When: June 7th through 11th, 2017. What: Offroad rally, talk shop, swap parts, and hang out with some awesome friends. Who: Anybody with an off-road mower can hang with the Mowercycle Gang at this rally. Haspin is about 800 acres. Trail difficulty ranges from easy to "Are you out of your mind?!?". Ride anywhere but in the campground. No electricity or water provided in the campground. There is one set of restrooms and showers, about 1/8th mile from campground, and they can be very muddy. Water is available for hosing off rides and riders at office, and beside drag strip. Camping is available in woods or campground. Last I knew, the price to get in is about $18 per day, active military members get an additional discount (usually free, but does require military ID). Haspin Website: http://www.haspinacres.com/*****IMPORTANT NOTES!***** Haspin requires all riders to wear helmets on all trails. If you do not bring a helmet, they won't let you ride. If you are under age and planning to come, you must work out the Haspin Acres waiver ahead of time or come with a parent. We do not want anyone to drive a long distance and be turned away at the gate. We will not pretend to be anyone's parents, and we are not responsible for you. As we are doing this rally jointly with Steelsoldiers, be respectful of these very cool guys and their very cool rides.
Expect to break your tractor. Be prepared with tools and parts.

| I want to make the trip to Haspin this year and make it my vacation trip for the year. I'm thinking about investing in an enclosed trailer for the trip that I can use to haul my rigs, tools, and camping gear. I could sleep in it too if the weather is bad. Then I can use the trailer like a shed at home. I was loosely planning on buying a shed this year anyway.
How's this for an idea I got from the show Roadkill. I have a sabre (by john deere) mower that I want to turn in to a low buck mud mower that I can beat and thrash on. How about I bring the stock tractor with the parts to make it a mud mower to Haspin, convert it to a mud mower at the campground, and then ride it that same week? If this is even possible with park regulations I think this would add some excitement to the week.

| I don't have the tractor at my house yet, but from what I've seen and heard on-line it likely has a spicer but oh well. I'd be cool if some fellow ATTLF members wanted to help out and get their hands dirty on the build. My plan is to buy the parts I know I'll need ahead of time. I might have to barter and trade at Haspin if there's things I forgot or need unexpectedly. | |

| I suggest building it before hand. Even then, with it being a fresh build, you will have plenty to work on at Haspin. We still fix ours after years of Haspin. Personally, I work for weeks getting ready, and this is with builds already done, so when at Haspin, I'd prefer to relax and ride, and not build. | |

- So how many gallons of gas do you guys usually go through?
I think we generally bring about a 5 gallon can per two tractors. If we run out, there is a gas station about 10 minutes away. How much gas we use depends mostly on weather and tractor breakage. We always say we aren't going to take the tractors out in the rain because the type of mud the trails become is extremely hard on them. We usually break this rule because it is also a lot of fun.

Sounds like a horrible idea to me, for the most part you'd be wrenching by yourself while everyone is out riding, no one wants to wrench while at haspin, let alone build a mower, definitely build the machine before hand! You'll enjoy yourself a lot more

| @redzz02 Yeah I realized a while ago that this would be too much work. There will be plenty of wrenching to do maintaining and fixing my rigs and well as helping others. Currently, I'm thinking about buying or renting an enclosed trailer or renting some kind of work/play camper. I'm also still looking for someone to go with. I might take my Dad or there is an off chance that TheBeal will have a ride ready to go. | |
