Thanks! I like them too haha, I just got to find a way to secure them while making sure they don't try and move when the spindle turns. Hopefully I'll figure something out.

I can see where that could be hard. I've thought about it for about 5 minutes and haven't thought of a solution for that to help. I'll keep my wheel in my head going.

I dont know what they are called, but they look like thin washers, and have a slight bend in them. If you cold fins the big enough to fit inside the spikes, then tack them in place, that might work.

Then there is something else, again I dont know what they are called, but they look like a top hat.
Ill try to find some pictures.

Im not sure you have enough material sticking up past the cotter pin for these to work, but may be worth a try.

Thanks guys! Your suggestions are much appreciated cuz I got nothing really hahaha! I do like the way they look on the spindles like that so hopefully we'll think of something.

I was thinking of some way to snap the cone down on the washer. Or.. Some way to pin it to the axle.

Yeah, if I put washers underneath the cotter pins I supposed the plastic covers would slip over the washers and stay there. Hmm... maybe I'll try that after March Break.

I'm back to working on the rat rod daily now. Although nothing major done lately, I'm still getting some small stuff done. I'm liking the way it looks with the new front axle though hahaha!


I'm also sort of starting get to tear the engine apart in preparation for some minor modifications.

Thanks mighty! Yeah that has pretty much been there since the beginning. I might have taken it off at one point though, I'm not sure haha.

Probably just some porting, maybe remove head and shave eyebrow. And my timing advance trick.

Has the governor already been removed? And if you can get your hands on one, get a OHV cam to put in it. I have one waiting to go in the 11 horse on the CQ whenever I have it apart

No it hasn't, I'm probably going to retain the governor assembly just cause I like having it. I did see your High Hour 11 engine build and I thought about maybe putting an OHV camshaft in mine. But we'll see haha.

Mostly working on the engine today again. I took the coil off so I could clean the rust off of the coil pickup and the flywheel magnet.


And also I decided to try and get the block down to bare aluminum because I think it would look cool with the blue blower shroud.

Hopefully I can get the whole block to look like that, I think it looks pretty cool, hahaha! Let me know what ya think!
