It's probably coming my way soon. Betcha it'll be 40 and raining here on Monday. At least tomorrow will be good. At least the days are getting longer.   

40!!! I almost forget what that feels like. I"m just glad this week is on the plus side of zero during the day, still below at night though.

Lawren are you planning side covers for the engine, or will the fenders close it up, for that old truck look?

The fenders and inner wheel well will cover the sides of the engine, just like an old truck. The grille area will remain the same on the MTD front, the fenders and lights will flare out from there. I'll probably add yellow fog lights in where the original MTD lights were.


The mesh will be covered by a cast aluminum mini version of the grill on the 41 ford



I got a sponsor down the road today, an automotive mechanic shop. He donated a flux core welder to help with the fender building. Since he does a LOT of ford work, he was quite intrigued by the idea of a half size 41 ford   

I may see if I can scrounge an old mustang II rack and pinion for steering... The rack would just about be perfect

All work and no play makes for a crippling day...

Hard to mock up parts I still need to fabricate. I'm still in the teardown stage... Almost every part is on a different machine. The engine is on the generator, the rear axle on the Gcart, (though I may use the peerless 1200 that moose is donating instead)

I've got the main tractor stripped down most of the way, and despite the nasty weather lately (and both regular AND irregularly scheduled farm duties) work is progressing. I need to pick up some batteries for the camera... I wanted to take some pics last night, but discovered the camera was dead.

It'll get there... Don't forget I gotta set up the knifemaking shop and get started on the prize knife too
