Haspin 2020! June 10th - 14th

I just now got that the motorhome was mister modifieds. I thought it was mighty haha. I need to read closer lol

I thought there may have been a discrepancy. I do that too sometimes.

I'm actually not too worried about it breaking down. Engine sounds good. With a new carb and set of points, should be mostly good to go. I'll bring some repair items along. The carb is pretty messed up and worn out so I'll just replace it. Main thing I would worry about is the transmission giving up along the way. But it hasn't sat for a really long period of time without being run over the years so hopefully that will have been a help. I'll give it a test run once it's road legal again and see how it feels. If it's really needed, I can pull the trans out and get it rebuilt.

Once the back end is braced back up a little, I'll buy a set of trailer tail lights and wire them back up. The stock ones were kind of one off deals and the sun baked them. Pretty much they fell apart. It shouldn't take much to brace the body back up. Even though it's pretty rough, I think it would still take a lot to pull it off the frame. Even if it did fall apart, that wouldn't really effect the trip all that much. I could just ratchet strap it together.

The water system was pretty much a wreck so I gutted all the copper pipes. Left the drain system in place though. I saved the 12 volt pump so I might be able to rig up something to the sinks and maybe even the shower if I feel like getting fancy. We'll see how it goes.

Gonna do some custom ATLTF lettering on the hood for sure. Don't know about the sides yet but maybe. I'm thinking rustoleum and brush job outta do it.

I’ve been bit by the haspin bug. All of a sudden I’m super amped up to go. I want to get reverse back on the mk2, get the trans breather done, rack and pinion steering done, charging system put on the engine, and get a hood mounted. All of that together shouldn’t take me too long. I’ve got two buddies that might be on board to go. Really trying hard to get as many friends to go as I can

I was gonna make a super Haspin tractor meet promo vid, but my old beat computer is kinda slow these days and I'm too cheap and lazy to go buy another one since I really don't use it that often. Not only that, but time is at a premium at simplicity racing with the new build and RV renovating going on.

Hopefully we get a bunch of people showing up this year, that would be pretty neat. This should be the year to go if your on the fence!

No idea on colors yet.

Previously, we have used Yellow, bright green, forest green, black, white, grey, royal blue, and Red.

Taking suggestions.

Desert tan or OD green? Battleship grey? Military colors would be cool since we’re going with the steel soldiers

Shirt design looks good to me. Guess you guys are almost out of different color options. Simplicity orange it is then.

Well this sux... We were planning on making it up again this year, but found out today due to Covid, my wife's parents plans got shifted.  They are going to a memorial in Utah and will be gone most of the month of June.  We are the only ones that can/will take care of their animals.  So I am out. 

I have been wondering, assuming that Haspin is open again for the normal dates and things go according to original schedule, How many people are still planning on going. I figured with some people out of work and all that, priorities may have shifted slightly.

I'm on the fence a bit about going, still thinking about it though.

I'm pretty sure I'm going, got my approval number for June 10-14. Currently sorting out a reliable vehicle to haul everything out. For some reason that's every time I go out...

Can't get my super 1971 Ford RV registered with NJMC closed for CORONAVIRUS! So that's unfortunate. I have a back up plan though.

Yeah, I was a no go earlier this year, then as the year (pre covid) started looking great for coming then  covid and other things happened and killed that opportunity.  No chance now to come. 

If June 10th through 14th are the final dates I will not be there either.

If you weren't 4 hours south west of laurel IN, I wouldn't have an issue with it. Your a bit outta the way on my run.

Okay, well pretty sure I won't be there. One of the puppy buyers pick up the last pup on the 6th, and I'm going to Rockcrusher Farm on the 7th. 3 days in between is just not enough time.
