That's corporate life man. They bait you in with all these "benefits" and "incentives" but then they turn around and throw stupid rules at you and make bad decisions for you. I'm glad I got out of that game and I'm never going back.

Spotted this guy at the scrap yard today. Didn’t snag it because I don’t have the time or space but seemed pretty stout. I didn’t look at it up close because I knew if I did I would end up dragging it home

This spring has not been too fun. I've had allergies gone wild and topped it with some bronchitis. Even had a spell where I decided to hug the floor. All it gave me back was a black eye. LOL
I'm doing much better now. Still some cough fits.

Killed the impala in less than 2 days of having it running...fkn plastic upper intake....
That sux, any indication it was going to go?
The donor car was slightly low on coolant, so I knew the intake gaskets were on their way out, and possibly the plenum. I just didn’t expect it to go so soon. Especially after I just put over 500 worth of new parts in it

So our daily driver, a 2006 Hummer H3, had 230,000 miles on it back in December, right. And she's really starting to show her age. So, in December, we're almost home, and my dad decides to pass this car. RPM gauge goes 4k, 5k, 6k, and now we're in front of him. Get about a mile down the road, and I start to notice some engine noises. Now we're headed up the hill to our house, and I know exactly what happened. "bang bang bang bang bang!" Yeah, rod knock. Long story short, $5k later, new engine is in. 3 weeks later, we hear a similar noise, except it's coming from the tranny. Then it got really bad, and it started to lag. This time it was a "clank clank clank!" noise. Then we realized it was coming from the where the driveshaft mounts to the engine. Yep, the shop did something wrong when they replaced the engine, which caused the CV joints to give. But, the shop said they didn't want to change the joints, so we got a whole driveshaft, $200. Anyway latest story happened yesterday on the way back from youth group. About 3 weeks ago, my dad replaced the cracked radiator because of overheating problems. And then, yesterday we're headed home with no problems whatsoever. And then, out of nowhere, the warning bell starts ringing nonstop. Seat belts are on, plenty of fuel, doors aren't open, "oh crap!" Heat gauge is maxed out. Slam on brakes, smoke starts coming from under the hood, and that's that. Luckily it didn't blow up, but we know that we're not going anywhere. So we call AAA, they say they'll be there in an hour. We had stopped in a U-turn lane on the county's main road (busiest highway in the county, but it's about as busy as a big city back road), so we had plenty of time to look it over. Turns out, the shop, again, when they put the engine in, forgot to put a clamp on one of the hoses, and it finally blew off. That hose was for the anti-freeze, and all the fluid had gone out of the system. They're supposed to have it fixed today. But that ain't the end of the story. All in all, we had 5 people stop to see if we needed help, 3 cops, and one of our friends, 10 total if you include the tow truck. One more reason to love small towns. One reason not to love them, is things like, towing services. 30 miles away is the nearest towing service. Plus, when AAA asked for where we were at, we told them 2 miles north of Walmart, AAA told the tow truck driver, Walmart parking lot. It would be nice if people these days actually did their job. Anyway, thought I'd throw the story of the ol' Hummer out there.

Ouch. Is that the 5.3 or the i5? I don’t think those were offered with the 4.2 i6 were they? That’s just a 4l60 trans right?
I’ll do a full video on the impala engine swap and everything once I get the new plenum, as well as some videos of the intake. Might as well do a walk through

3.5 5 cylinder. Not sure about the trans, 4WD all the time. V8 and pickup truck version didn't come out till 2008. Car is now pushing 235k miles, engine has about 4k on it. We bought it brand new in 2005 for about $40,000 give or take a few. I think it was one of the first ones made. It's been a good car considering it's 14 years old and we put 22k miles or more on it a year. Got it back today and everything's working fine. No charge since it's the shops fault. Sorry if the writing's big, I'm using a cellphone.

Text looks normal here. Glad you got it back and everything seems good.
Ordered the intake for the impala yesterday, should be here next week so I’ll be able to fix the impal...again.
Went with the ATP after reading several reviews on several different brands. 20 bucks more than dorman but fits better and fixes the known factory issues. Seems good to me haha. Also went to auto zone yesterday and bought a torque wrench for 23 bucks (yay), on my walk back to my auto class I found a 20 dollar bill in the parking lot! So I was super happy there, and now I’ve finally got a torque wrench so I can do things the right way

So over the past couple years, we have been dealing with this "older" neighbor next door. She isn't too brilliant and thinks she owns the neighborhood. As many have seen here, we got a new travel trailer this year and I wanted to put it behind the fence, but the side of the house to put it on the fence was at the back of the house. I was going to move the existing fence up to another corner post on the line that aligned to the front of the house. This fence runs from back of property to the front. I did the proper thing and called for line marking. Then I dug my holes and set my poles. I hadn't gone further as it has been raining a lot since. Wife receives a call stating, I'm not sure what you are doing, but I wanted to let you know the fence in front of the existing is not shared. Only where your fence is attached back. (i'm pretty certain this is a lie as it is pretty obvious her fence around the rest of the house is not attached to this fence in the line.
We called her back to talk about this. She seemed really put out that we wanted to move the fence forward so we could put the camper behind the fence so the dogs could help protect it. Once she found out the dogs were going to have access to this new area to them, (like I was going to leave "my" old fence in place?! This set her off on a 5 minute tirade about how our dogs terrorize her and her family and workers that come to her house. What? Oh and how one of the dogs bit her "animal loving" friend because she wanted to reach over the fence and pet them. What? We questioned her a few times as to WHY they would reach over the fence? "Oh she loves animals." is all she would say. We even mentioned how her pool people throw stuff at the fence at them. Her yard people spray the dogs. Needless to say, I got pretty agitated.
This lady has no regard to anyone else. Last 4th, her family set off fireworks from 8pm until 1am. I'm talking mortars every 30 seconds. While this would be nice to watch, but ALL the debris from this fell in my yard, on my house and cars. No, sorry for the mess or anything. Once her party was over, I did rev up one of the tractors and swept the yard for the next 20-30 minutes with flood lights. She also has these old leathery ladies in the summer come out for loud music, drunken pool parties. Sometimes they get naked. Trust me, nothing to look at. I've even seen one of them pop a squat outside the pool.
Needless to say, I am done with all this and her. We will be installing a stockaded fence that parallels the fence line. She can have the existing fence. I'm done.

We've got some pretty bad neighbors too. I'm not going to explain for family friendly's sake (some of ya'll know what I'm talking about), but I'll just leave it at they're violent and trigger-happy. So we put up some cameras to keep an eye on our property, and they were pissed. They didn't call and ask for an explanation or anything of that nature, here is the mature solution they came up with to deal with us.

HAHAHAHA thats great.....it really is a blessing when you have a decent neighbor, but they always seem to be few and far between.

Yeah that sucks. I mean, if they're trying to pet YOUR dogs, on YOUR property, they're kinda trespassing and your dogs kinda have the right to bit them. That's how it works here. And those parties, is all the more reason to put a fence up. I guess everyone has their bad neighbor. ALL of ours has at least 2 dogs including us, and we've been told one of them sell drugs. Whatever, I'll never know.
