I'm not sure what you mean @RockeyDA?  Did you mean the grille?  I plan to paint the pedal, the rims, the vari-drive handle, the engine pulley, etc. yellow.  Should look cool.

I would have probably painted like a patio series deere.  Those are so cool!
Hmm...not my style really.  Anyway, I like the classic John Deere look.

Yeah those Patio Series are pretty neat, really rare though.
Yeah, I'd never seen them before.

Looks very Good W! WHat'S the Problem of pulling the Crank and clag weld it up and then Machine it down in a machine shop and there they cut you the Keyway? I would do that, cuz if the Engine Pulley wobbles or whatever on misalignmeht, it will threw belts and chew them, and for changing Pulleys it's also good to have a 1" crank, where mostly everything fits on
Well, because I don't want to spend much money on it.  And besides, the tapered shaft doesn't matter, because the pulley is going to be super close to the block to be able to align.
Tried to get the fronts off.  Popped the cover off, which took some doing.

Castle nuts and cotter pins? Must be bevelled roller bearings in there. Nothing wrong with that.

I never said there was. I just said they overbuilt it. If they put it on cars that go 120 mph then it's obviously way more than enough for a little garden tractor putting around at 6 mph.

Um, I think you misunderstood me. I was saying "Nothing wrong with that" as in "Man that sure is a good setup". If you see what I mean...

Boy, they sure did overbuild these things!  Like a car's front end.

That's how they use to build them.  TO LAST! Not like today's light weight disposable stuff.  Just like today's society, but that is off topic.

I'm impressed wit how JD decided to hold the front wheels on, that's hands down superior to the bolt, snap ring or just a cotter key and washer. Nice yellow grille by the way.

its better than dinky by alot, i cant find 3/4" e or c clips any were i go, every one is sold out, and they some times fly off when i swap wheels. driving 20+ MPH with vice grips on your axel is a little sketchy.

That gas tank looks like it fits pretty well.  How are you going to hold it in there?

That diesel looks good in the front there. I really like this build, it's modded but not butchered.
Thanks, yeah I want it to look relatively factory.

That gas tank looks like it fits pretty well.  How are you going to hold it in there?
Thanks.  The way it was held it stock, there are 2 clamps, kinda like hose clamps that hold it in.  Hard to explain, will show it to you when I get there.

The center pulley is seized, any ideas on how to unseize it?

Best idea I could think of.

And it worked!

Should I sand the rust off?  It seems like it would help the belt get traction, but it also seems like it would wear it down prematurely. Thoughts?
