Yeah we're up pretty high luckily. Haha, I don't think I'd go that close to the river with a tractor. One slip and I'd be sunk for sure. There's enough off-road fun up here for me haha.

heh, lol. Well, it's a hydro, Poulans aren't the best mowers ever, definitely are better ways to spend $200. Yeah, it don't have a deck, though! LOL!!! We actually do talk like that here in Texas, Hollywood didn't get it wrong!

Heck i would pay 400 for a sears suburban! Haven't ever found one for sale . Closest thing was a mower that was a Columbia, not sure who makes those mowers but it looked similar to a sears.

https://wichita.craigslist.org/grd/d/john-deere-tractor/6501305515.html Anyone know about these vari drive models ? i emailed the guy asking if it had a geared tranny and what he wanted for it then read about it and found out it hs a peerless 2300 with a mechanical very drive ....... if its anything like a mtd vari drive i wouldn't want it but it has a 2300 in it and i like how it works . oh it also weights 660 lbs with a deck so might be a bit heavy for what i was thinking.

Oh yeah, one of the guys fearless rode with late last summer had one. I don’t think there’s anything particularly wrong with them, just more prone to belt slip and probably tougher to pulley swap

Yeah, but then he pulled the dude pulled the vari drive out and used a jackshaft I think, and it performed great at the mud runs. I'd go for it! Also, those fronts look neat, if you can tube 'em and get them to work, I'd keep them.

The jack shaft idea was what i was thinking, put some itp guerilla silver backs on it and a bigger lightweight engine , pretty much unstoppable . If i get the mowers from the other guy soon ( agreed on a price ((160$))but havent found time to get them and now his yard is slop i guess from all the rain) then i could sell the mtds and pay for the deere or i could get this one cause its still for sale https://wichita.craigslist.org/grd/d/for-sale/6467527058.html

Hey guys, I found an engine I’m particularly interested in. It’s something I’ve never seen before and definitely plan on picking up.
It’s a 2000 (I think) Briggs 28 cubic inch OHV single. 15.5 hp. Nothing special there, but here are what sets it apart
It is pressure lube, and has a cast aluminum valve cover instead of the typical stamped steel. Looks just like a Kohler valve cover. One with the hydraulic lifters.
Now that makes me wonder...did Briggs ever make a single. Cylinder engine (non vanguard) with hydraulic lifters?? The engine is on a toro, and I know they either made engines themselves, or had them tailored just for them. This is the latter, but is it as special as I think?

I'm pretty sure some of the single cylinder engines with oil filters where just that. They had a pump that sent oil from the oil pan through the filter but that's all, so not full pressure lube. Unless it says "Full pressure lubrication" on the shroud it probably isn't. But there is that chance this is some odd-ball engine that's worth looking into! Haha.
