| Don't take this the wrong way, but-
Getting a carb rebuilt or cleaned correctly the first time, is often the sort of thing that takes some skill and experience- and a wee bit of luck. Hell, every now and then, even I have to pull one apart a second time. The passages are really small, and the gunk that blocks them up can be quite stubborn.
I use a decent carb cleaning solution, a welder's tip cleaning kit, and compressed air. If you do not possess a welder's tip cleaner, try this- get some of those paper or plastic coated wire ties that you would close a garbage bag with. Strip the paper or plastic of the tie. That fine wire is pretty good for this task.
That said, there are other things that will cause the same symptoms as a dirty carb. Things to check for-
*Fuel delivery. Check that the gas is actually making it from the tank all the way into the carb bowl. A blocked tank strainer, petcock, filter, or line can prevent proper fuel flow
*In the same vein, check fuel pump operation if your machine uses a pump.
*Also check gaskets between carb and engine. A leaky intake gasket can starve it too.
*Carb adjustment- You said you rebuilt the carb. IF your carb has an adjustable main jet, is it adjusted correctly? | |
