Are you talking about the petcock on the gas tank or the petcock on the carb? The one on the gas tank could possible be plastic welded back on if thats the case. The ones on the carburetors are sometimes removable. If you could get the other pieces out you could just get another one.

| The one on the carb. The plastic piece broke and in order to put in a new one in it wants me to put in a new metal piece also. On mine I can't get the metal piece off. | |

| I don't think there is a way to run it through the key just off of the kill side of the magneto | |

| Some guys have run kill switches to the anti backfire solenoid in the carb... if yours is still intact, just use the tether to interrupt the power to it.
Alternately you could use a relay to change the tether switch from (I'm assuming) open on tether removal to closed. I can help by diagramming the relay if you don't know how to wire it.

| Either way. Wiring it to the key wouldn't work. As the key turns the antibackfire solenoid off and grounds out the magneto. If you turn the key on and have the tether tied in it wont work because their is no ground on the tether anymore. You have to wire the kill wire to the tether than to the frame. Otherwise no bueno | |

| Usually, you would tie the tether directly into the kill circuit. Take a tap off the kill wire right off the ignition coil, thru the switch to a ground. This would usually be done with a "normally open" (cap installed) switch. If you indeed have a normally closed switch, you will have to go with TRB's relay suggestion. Fortunately, its pretty easy and will not cost much. | |

| It's been taking me a while but I'm hopefully going to get my friend to do some welding tomorow and get the clutch installed and the fenders moved back. I'm still waiting on part to come in and the welding but as soon as it comes in I'll post it up. | |

| Another update Got the new seat in already welded the extra supports in so it won't crack the fenders this time. Also got the new steering parts in and installed them. Tomorrow I'll hopefully be able to install the hood and see what I have to do to the dash and steering wheel. Does anyone know any good places to buy automotive paint online that's not so expensive I'm looking for a b5 blue or close to it. | |

| I am wondering if I want to lock the rear axle or leave it unlocked. I am using it mostly to have for fun and just ride around at the track. I have a front brake system going on the front for a line lock. Will it still spin the tires and how long will it take before the axle breaks because of my clutch? | |

| The front brake setup I'm going to use as a line lock/ brake setup. Also the gas pedal I'm using. It's a push button start of of a old generator. | |
