| Picked up this Ford for a race mower and just got a welder so I started tearing it down. I dropped the tansaxle but I cant find a model number on it anywhere. I want to get some new seals and bearings and see if I can gear it up. Just says Patent 4.103.566 and re 32.125 | |

| Yeah Peerless 800 or 801. They are usually grease filled. They also have axle bearings. One thing though, Beef up the spider gears. I have ran into alot of them that got rain and stuff inside them and the spiders worn down and it wouldn't drive any more because of slippage. | |

| Not much going on with it yet but this is the frame. I plan on doing direct steering and all new tie rods. For now I'm focusing on the transaxle. | |

| that one is an 801, i had the same one in my lawn mower trike. BUT i had found out that it spins counter clock wise. as in the motor would turn like how it normally dose but the input gear is on the opposite side of the case. you would have 5 gears in revers and one in forward. you can still use that trans but you would have to flip or cross your belt or if you mount it backwards. | |

Is the highest gear next to neutral? Or what? I imagine switch some gears around an it would be normal.

I have the same mower and it worked like a normal transaxle, before I screwed it up... *edit: and it was an 801

| to speed it up, just change the pullies. big on the engine, small on the transmission. how fast are you looking to go? | |

| I could but I figured I could keep bigger pulleys and get better belt grip. I'm looking to go 40 with it and I'm not sure how big of a swap that would require. | |

He said he changed the gears around on the shaft and it sped it up. He also turned his tranny 108* and flipped it upside down.

| Yea I've seen em its actually the same tractor I have I just thought this transaxle was oil filled because of the plug on top. He's not clear exactly what he does to it. I'll just pm him on YouTube. I'm gonna be taking it apart this weekend most likely Sunday. | |

| If you do a 3' pull on the transaxle and a 4.5 that will give you 13mph in 1st gear, 26mph in 2nd, 39mph in 3rd, 52mph in 4th, 65mph in 5th, and then a massive 78mph in 6th. But really who would want to go that fast with no windshield | |

How do you figure that. Im running a 5 on trans a 6 on motor and 26 in tires and only get 30 with no governer. Thats basicly running a 3 on trans an 4 on motor i dont think a 1/2" on pulley will make that much diffrence.

You put in engine rpm then each pully size and it calculates the speeds you will aproxomatly get in each gear. I will see if I can find it and I'll put a link in here.

| My mud mower runs about a 1:1 ratio and goes about 14 but it's got some belt slippage in the higher gears so that's why I wanted to gear this up internally. I have a parts tranny I can take gears out of. I watched stretch's vid I could just gear up the final drive ratio like that with the parts and pulley swap from there. | |

| I got the washer off and shift key out I had to grind the outside of it down because when I hit it in I flattened the end to where the washer wouldn't slide off. I think I found a way I can use my spare gear sets like stretch did I'll post pics in the next few days of what I have planned for now it's soaking in some degreaser. | |
