Me too. I actually learnt a lot about WW2 German tanks and guns since I had to make a poster to go along with it.

I wouldn't mind having a willys jeep from that era.

I watch Dirt Everyday a lot and it has me itching to get a jeep and the older willy's look really cool to me. I like the rugged square look.

Nellybelle is named after Pat Brady's willy jeep.

Totally not true. @stretch44875 has a modified RER that I have used for 2 years at Haspin now and that thing does fantastic on turfs.

We did a complete down to the frame teardown of one of those in Auto. Id love to have one.

So @doug, the rer with the turfs can go through all the stuff an off road mower can without getting hung up or losing traction? are they modified tread ? I am assuming the tranny is locked or the machine is speed up , mabye you can call it an off road mower but i personally don't think that someone just taking the deck off of a mower makes it an off road machine.

Its very much modified, but yeah stocks turfs of two different tread patterns. Sure it struggles in mud, but the thing is a tank. Heres video of it in 2016 running through some deep water/ mud.

Do you run the craftsman in your profile pic at haspin? Or have a build thread on it? I’ve been wondering for awhile...

I used it upstate once, flipped it, then blew up the trans that winter. @mr.modified has the rest of the pieces of it. Theres some videos on my Youtube of the build and of that ride. Never made it to Haspin, the last 2 years ive borrowed stretches mowers or used other stuff I brought.

No I hated it. Never doing that on a mower again unless it came that way.

I have doug's old machine currently sitting outside with a piece of tin roof over it. Someday I might open up a museum for all of doug's old tractor projects.

Stretches RER with that oppy on the back of it does look like a beast.  I bet it does wheelies better than most front engine tractors and that locked diff with the weight of the engine and operator over the rear end gives it a lot of traction off road.

Talking about military jeeps, look what is gonna replace the humvee!!

Its not always about mud, even the tractors with AGs or ATV tires get stuck in it. But that thing would go just about anywhere I put it. Its very well balanced.

That thing is sick diesel and independent suspension! I want it. Hey Double W, I think you should make your camo mower even more military. Put lights on and some other stuff.

I am going to make mine more military, like a tactical bumper, lights, stuff like that.  Supposed to be a light, fast, capable vehicle, just like the humvees and now the new JTLV.  Don't worry I ain't done yet!!!
