Yeah I know, looks so cool!

I am going to make mine more military, like a tactical bumper, lights, stuff like that.  Supposed to be a light, fast, capable vehicle, just like the humvees and now the new JTLV.  Don't worry I ain't done yet!!!

Yeah, that was something else I was thinking of.  I don't drive it very fast, but when you want to move it hauls.  like in 5 gear, you can go from like 10 to 25 in 2-3 seconds.  It does about 30.  Super excited!

I like chicken fried steak.

I've had turfs do pretty good with tire chains, went even better than Orion with Ags

I think I will see if I can find small car chains for mt ATV tires.

I have two sets of tire chains, one I got with an LT1000, the other I got from a flea market for $5. I had that second pair on Mutt's original 23's, I still had to overlap em some. Pretty sure they were meant for some odd size farm use tire. One from the first pair was so worn that they had broken on the cross chains in a few places, I had to bolt them back together haha.

Found this on craigslist. the guy wants 250 bucks for it and it is a three speed cast iron tranny( 2300?) has been sitting for four years but does not look to bad. its in a small town 2 hours away but i have family there so if its for sale next time i go up there i might buy it .( mabye ) i think its a good deal tho

Looks good to me, I've always wanted a old JD tractor like that.

If it's a three speed cast iron trans it would most likely be a Peerless 1200, but seeing that it's a vertical shaft engine I would think the trans would be vertical input as well.

soo is that tranny a good model?

If it's a Peerless 1200 it's a very good transaxle. It must have some sort of belt twist somewhere underneath though to get the vertical shaft engine to drive that trans.

it could have a gearbox but who knows. it would be an awesome mower for a heavy duty mud build.

Yeah it'd be sweet if it had a RAGB instead of a belt twist.

i am definatly going to look into it . if it mows i do need a mower for this season sadly so that would be a reason for my mom to let me buy it lol

Well Craftsman GTs are horizontal shaft engines, but have vertical shaft trannys. Might be the opposite of what this one is.

I don't think I've seen a Craftsman GT with a horizontal shaft engine and a vertical shaft trans. I know the ones with 820s in them usually have a vertical shaft engine.

MowerOutlaw has one he's making for his son to use. He shows the wierd belt setup in a video.

??? You said Craftsmans have horizontal shaft engines and vertical shaft transaxles... I don't know, hahaha. Either way, you shohld definitely pick up that little Johnny D biggas. Drop an 18hp opposed in it or something haha.
