Ok I technically live in Everett WA so its a 3-4hour drive there.

It is officially 1 month until the Haspin Acres rally! Get your plans finalized and your wrenching done! Its almost time to ride!

Stretch and I are making progress on the prep for Haspin.


1. Stretch's tractor is done. We greased it, oil changed, new battery, all tie rods tightened, checked and replaced shifter keys in the transaxle.

2. My tractor is mostly done. We did all of what we did to his, but still need the headlight replaced and the throttle adjusted.

3. Stretch's son's tractor is mostly done as well. He only needs his brakes adjusted / pads replaced.


We have 2 other tractors to completely go through. Time is ticking, but we knocked out a ton of stuff!

soooo u gonna pick me up? LOL, btw i accept strechs bet that we cant last an hour without braking somthing

PM and repair update:

My tractor is done. Yesterday we shored up the steering, replaced hood hinges, replaced headlights, and rebuilt the ammo can cooler.

Stretch's tractor will probably get one more tweak, he wants to reinforce the steering wheel.

Stretch's son's tractor is done, no updates done yesterday.

Chris's tractor is in progress. Yesterday we serviced the transmission (shifter keys were shot) and changed the oil.

Jordan's tractor is in progress. Yesterday we pulled the transmission and opened it (shifter keys are good). Transmission casing is cleaned and ready to reassemble.


Is it June 12th yet?!?!

Also cleaned and greased Chris's starter, it was the worst one yet. His transaxle is ready to be reinstalled, still needs axle greased. May pull the steering box and do a little welding. May need a battery. Fired up the engine, it sounds good.

Adjusted Rainbow's throttle cable, he now has full throttle. He was considering mufflers, but it just sounds too good. Earlier this week we added a gear to his transaxle, he now has a 6 speed instead of 5. All the tractors now have peerless 6 speed transaxle.

I'm learning more and more tweaks to these transmissions. Have to grind the end of the pinion gear for clearance, it was rubbing the larger #40 chain a little. Also figured out how to perfectly align the shifter keys with the detent ball and spring, for clean, crisp shifting. Filing the inside of 5/6 gear, to provide a sharp, square edge, for the shifter key. It can pop out of gear otherwise. There are 2 styles of mainshafts, that are interchangeable. The one is a bigger diameter, and uses shifter keys that have more girth to them. Swapped all but one transaxle to the larger shaft and keys.

All 5 tractors are ready to go! Shirts are ordered and on the way. Now its time to focus on the tool trailer and prepping / loading the campers. Just over 2 weeks to go.

Loading the tools in the tool trailer. Doing the easy way of lifting a 3,000 lb tool box. Last year crane was broke and I had to load it with a ramp and winch.

I'm running the crane... like a boss.

Officially down to 1 week to go. We are pretty much ready, which means we are ahead of schedule for perhaps the first time ever.

It looks, unfortunately, like it is just going to be the mower cycle gang this year despite lots of interest from other ATLTF people. If anyone IS planning to come out, PM me and we will exchange contact info so we can meet up at the park.

For everyone else, you can live vicariously through us when we post our pictures and videos.

Believe me, I'd love to go. But that is a 2100 mile one-way trip for me... and times were just too tough this year. MAYBE next year I'll load up war machine, fill the cross-bed tool box with parts and wrenches etc and roll out.

I totally understand that not everyone can make the trip. Time and money are not unlimited for most people.
I'll be sure to post next year's dates with plenty of time so people who can and want to come can make arrangements. The more the merrier...
