Is the smoke like a mist, and is the engine an older briggs?? if so it is just heated fuel vapour, if the engine runs fine there is nothing to be concerned about... What engine it it???

| yeah it is normal after you have shut it down, is the smoke like a misty vapour or is it thick smoke. it would be better to give some information in the original post about the problem and engine. | |

| yeah it is the fuel coming into contact with a hot surface, it turns into a wierd misty vapour. it happens on the older briggs engines and the newer ones that have no choke and only a primer. sometimes happens after shutting down the engine. nothing to worry about!!
lol I was thinking that if it was thick white smoke it means oil is going into the carb through the breather - it is soo funny when it happens, it literally makes clouds, but that only happens when the oil is overfilled by say 2x the correct amount!
