Belt guides man! Gotta get that all fixed up haha. I can’t deal with a belt that wants to fall off. Could get you seriously hurt with some of the stuff we do.

@MightyRaze Don't think the belt has stretched very much, the clutch doesn't come out all the way. I sprayed some B12 on the belt while it was spinning in neutral and it got better for a short time. Once I drove for a bit it started slipping again though.

Make it a chain drive. That wont slip.

Hey guys how's everybody doing!? I've been pretty busy and not doing alot of tractor stuff lately hence my absence but hope to turn that around in a few weeks. I've recently acquired a '09 Ford Ranger because living without a truck is taking its toll on me and that's been eating up some of my spare time but I've also completely tore down and refreshed a Baja dirt bike, mostly tore down and refreshed a basketcase of a 1990 Suzuki LT80, a 49cc (2 stroke) dirtbike and am now working on a Gio 50cc ATV with a 4 stroke GY6 which brings me to my next point...
I've replaced the top ends on several of them but have never had to get into the bottom end of one, until now...
I was a little concerned when I saw the spark plug and rust in the cylinder but the panic set in when I drained the oil. This is the most disgusting mess of oil, gas and water that I've ever seen how's about you?
I already knew the top end was doneski (which is no big deal really) but the deeper I got the worse it got and yup, I don't think it's supposed to look like this! Lol.
The plan is to tear it the rest of the way down and see if I can save it, if y'all are interested in following this journey with me (if it makes sense to move ahead) just say so and I'd be happy to make a thread and document the process!
USPS has hit again. My governor gear that was suppose to deliver yesterday went missing and finally showed up one state over from where it was sent. It went from Michigan to Wisconsin. Must have took a ferry that must have broke down in the middle of the great lake. Delivery on that is still unknown.
My governor control lever that was to be delivered today, and was on track to, somehow .... you see:
TODAY Expected Delivery by 9:00pm SHAWNEE,OK 74804 | Apr 19 3:51 am Arrived at USPS Regional Facility SIOUX FALLS SD DISTRIBUTION CENTER | Apr 18 7:19 pm Arrived at USPS Regional Facility OKLAHOMA CITY OK DISTRIBUTION CENTER | Apr 18 8:55 am Departed USPS Regional Facility SAINT LOUIS MO NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER | Apr 17 7:26 pm Arrived at USPS Regional Facility SAINT LOUIS MO NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER | Apr 17 5:00 am Departed USPS Regional Facility NORTHWEST ROCHESTER NY DISTRIBUTION CENTER | Apr 16 8:33 pm Arrived at USPS Regional Origin Facility NORTHWEST ROCHESTER NY DISTRIBUTION CENTER | Apr 16 11:20 am USPS picked up item KENDALL,NY 14476 | Apr 16 9:09 am Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item KENDALL,NY 14476
Cities in green are literally less than 30 miles apart. Not sure it is going to make it from SIOUX FALLS SD to my mailbox today.
Distance: 9 hr 35 min (664 miles) via I-35 N and I-29 N
Hate to say it, this is why I haven't made more stickers to send out. I seem to have to resend 25% of them over because they get lost.

Sometimes USPS plays hot potato with my packages back and forth between two shipping centers. I wonder how they do it and still make it arrive on time.
Bought this neat little shear a while back. Looks like it’ll do 1/4x2 angle iron and maybe 3/8x2 (complete guess there) flat. It’s meant to be used with an Enerpac portapower hydraulic system, but that stuff is extremely expensive, a real high grade brand. Harbor freight has hand pumps that would work with it but I’m not interested in pumping the heck out of a handle to shear a few pieces of metal. Wouldn’t even save any time over the bandsaw.
So I found this neat little air over hydraulic unit from Vevor (fairly decent import brand). It’s supposed to get here today, I’m looking forward to plumbing it up and trying it out!

Me being me I'd just make up some hoses and connect her up to the remote on the tractor. Not really sure if that would even work, also possible you dont have a tractor

Tractors I do have, but this is a one way cylinder that requires several thousand PSI. Think the pump and cylinder are both rated at 10k psi. Not sure if any of the tractors here get near a thousand.

That makes more sense, I thought for some reason they would put out 3 or 4 thousand PSI, I was thinking of the top link remote on our kuboter, maybe that doesn't have as much power as I think

Most common hydraulic systems don’t seem to put out over 3000psi. Remember that force from cylinder is equal to pressure x piston area, no need to have super high PSI and stress things and generate more heat when you can just make the bore of the cylinder bigger to lift more or whatever. These little portapower systems are so high pressure because they need to be extremely compact (small piston area) and still be able to generate literal tons of thrust. I think the little cylinder on the shear is a 10 ton. It leaks pretty bad but I found a seal kit for it on Amazon that should have it fixed right up.
@Ifitaintbroke why be all secretive about it? Lol. We can all learn by each others wins/losses, what works/doesn't work and hey, others have struggled and have suggestions on how to get it done.
I had a hard time getting one off at the end of last year but in the end I got r did! https://www.atltf.com/t7048p450-off-topic-anything-2023#129412. You do want to be careful in your method or your could end up doing internal damage or even break the case around the drum shaft, keep that in mind.

It should work. Should. But yeah if it doesn't, I'll show y'all what I tried.
