I got some tools for free recently as well as a generator. I got a vise, bench grinder, jack, and some hand tools by helping clean out a property to be sold. Generator is a durostar something or other with a 7 hp engine.

I know it's been a minute since I've been around but I have been popping in incognito to try and keep up with happenings around here, apparently I have 131 notifications and I'm not even sure how to deal with all of that! Lol. I've been very very busy (in a good way) and not doing a whole lot of tractor stuff aside from listing my Bolens G10 for sale, selling the MF12 and summerizing the Roper 16T (plus a small addition) so I should update those threads soon but I do hope to start working on some small stuff soon and maybe get out for a ride.
Again, I hope you've all been well and are enjoying the better weather that's coming around!

Yeah I really gotta update my B/O thread as well. As for the notifications, I ended up turning most of mine off, I know how you feel man. Usually if I haven't kept up and have too many I just batch delete them all and try to go over what is relevant on the forum

Havent been on for a while watched the eclipse today, they gave everyone the day off at work. Did some maintenance on the ol rig and made a badass steering wheel adapter and foot protectors.now I can romp on the poor thing, i abuse it too much and don't maintain it at all so I'm sure it'll like that.

We got to see the eclipse. here's some pictures I took Here's something cool What you are seeing is commonly referred to as lens flare. Lens flares occur when there is a very bright light source (such as the Sun) in the image The flares are eclipse-shaped because the source of light was shaped like that. Anyway thanks for letting me be a dork

We were in the path of totality. My school brought us outside to watch it. Possibly the coolest part of it was how it got noticeably colder once the sun was fully obscured. Image is from my English teacher

how do yall suggest getting my belt clean. I think oil or grease got onto it and causing it to slip. I took off my engine and transmission pulley as well as my belt and cleaned them in the sink with dawn soap. Also cleaned the idlers by wiping them with the dawn soap. Got a little bit better, but still seems to be slipping on hills n stuff. When I release the clutch in 6th it barely moves.

I never really had problems with saturated belts causing belt slip. I know @Wheelinhorse had to oil his belt to get his clutch to work right on the B1. Do you have good belt tension and at least 40% wrap on both pulleys, with at least 5” pulleys? Any smaller and you’re guaranteed some slip, and less than 50% wrap on the pulleys and you’re really likely to get belt slip. Remember grip is all about tension and surface area. You could always try adding extra or heavier clutch springs.
I’ve always had some slip as I’m running a small engine and transmission pulley. The clutch pulley gets too close to the engine pulley for me to make it much bigger. Slip has never been this bad though.

Hey y'all. I just ripped the transaxle out of the gt18. I want to go thru it and put in new seals, possibly bearings. What would I look up parts under? And does anyone have any experience with this critter?

Belt guides man! Gotta get that all fixed up haha. I can’t deal with a belt that wants to fall off. Could get you seriously hurt with some of the stuff we do.
