Hello Gang, After building 10 monster mowers tons of racing mowers and numerous mud mowers I am back. I have an idea to combine a racing mower with a mud mower on a slightly different platform. There is a mower that I have not built yet and I have the perfect rolling chassis for it. Unfortunately I moved and that killed my shop... So now I have very limited tools and space but I couldn't wait to get back in to it. What do I want to build you may ask..... Years ago I started tossing around the idea of having a rear engined chassis. With a predator 6.5hp engine and torque converter. Chain drive with posi rearend. This is how I set up my mowers for racing. Looking to eliminate one of the weakest parts, the transaxle. I picked up a john deere rx95 mower and will channel the frame like I did with my other mowers. What do you think? Do you have photos of your rear engined build? Post em. Glad to see this place and the sport is growing.

Being a rear engine chassis, if you did need to back up, you could just do so with your feet! Welcome back. Loved your snow picture in the other topic.

My old manager always wished to do such a thing with a snapper rider classic. Now that would be a great way to die.
Rear engine mowers give me the creeps even if they're stock. Definitely go with a 1" solid and wide rear axle and a peerless 700 to reduce any movement. Might even move the peerless as much forward as possible to reduce weight on the front. Move anything that weighs more than 5gram to the front including the battery. Keep it nose down, the standard ones can do a Wheely even if the deck and everything is still on.
Iam looking forward to this, just keep it safe
