| Well, i haven't seen much information on my minibike online, so i figured i should make an off topic post. It is a 1970s? sears Puddle Jumper/ Orange Crush (was never officially named) that i conviniently named "Steve." I was hoping that maybe someone knew something about this bike? It originally should have had a 3? hp briggs flatty, and a Comet 30 clutch. as of right now it has a 6.5 hp clone, and a high performance centrifugal clutch. This bike goes 50+ mph (all that i have had the balls to go) but doesnt have the power i was hoping. Any way to boost the power for free? and where could i get parts for this bike, as it needs a new back wheel, as the current one has been tweaked a bit and vibrates at high speed. Steve is a very fun ride, and is easy to ride so it is perfect for beginners. Just hoping that anyone may know something about this bike. Hopefully pics will be up soon. | |

| Ive thought of taking my CB175 and chopping it up into a minibike with tude. Really heavy though and would need serious mods, as well as a big but small engine like the Predator 13hp. Doubt my 18hp opposed would fit lol.

I have one, 18 horses. Its just sitting in the shed, so someday I want to make a go kart with it. That would FLY. I'd Imagine you would have a really hard time getting a oppy in there. You would have to stretch the frame for sure. If you are serious about a twin I would get a v twin, more compact.

Heh.. if someone else goes through all the work to do it Id certainly be more inclined to try! If I hadn't had scrapped the 3.5hp push mower engines I had I would have liked to experiment with those. Anywho, heres a picture of a 70s minibike I got from a friend. After its been sitting in a shed the past 30-40 years. Goint to attempt to restore it the best I can.

| well,i can try to get my shenanigans working long enough to get a pic uploaded.. but basically the front forks work just the same as a standard coilover shock, except no shock... just spring. one piece of metal tube slides into another bigger one, with a spring outside. i really need a rear tire.. i fell flat on my face in the mud yesterday lol | |

I read somewhere that there are bushings in there too. Sounds pretty cool.

You could probably take the forks apart and attempt to fix them. I think I read the thing about the bearings or bushings being in the forks on OMB.com. I'd take it apart and see if you could replace those bearings/bushings, and lube it up good. That would probably keep it from binding.
Still looking for one in my area for me to snatch up.
