We have this big 200,000v power line out back of my place down in the woods aways and this year they brush mowed it. My poor father wanted to get a couple hardwood saplings out of the path before they got mowed but they got cut down, that said they were wild and we got some last year. The guy running the bobcat was nice, he tried to put it off as long as he could but he had to do it. Anyway it’s gonna probably mess up the deer catching’ this fall cause they like to lay in the brush and bed during the day. Kicked a couple up in there before. Went for a ride yesterday to see the work and I guess I was going too fast, I hit a bump or something and the hood flew half open and I almost got ejected lol. Ought to be more careful and make sure I take care of the old girl. Checked and nothing was bent or cracked (crisis averted whew). It was strange cause it wasn’t rough until MASSIVE BUMP OH MY lol. Well she’s fine so we’ll keep going slow and all will be good I guess. There’s my slightly boring story for today.

I like going "deer catching" too! Lol! Sucks when they have to kill everything under the power lines. My grandparents use to have a bunch of wild blackberries until they came and wiped them out.

We've been putting a new roof on my grandmas house since it's been leaking alot, not much to it just alot of work and money. But we've been using my uncle's old dump truck which is a 1972 Chevrolet c30, she's equipped with a stock 350 and like everything else it also has a bullet proof bull dog four speed. (We seem to like them) Ain't the prettiest thing but it's got great patina, all these 60s trucks look good this seafoam green/baby blue color! Real tough old truck and it's been used alot over the years!
Just another old truck the faimly has, thought I'd share. Got plenty more to go, just dont have pictures of all of them!

Well I got some bad news in yesterday. I’ve been fully COVID vaccinated for about 2 weeks and yesterday the cdc called... 2 days later and I wouldn’t have had to quarantine... well this sucks. Can’t do much on the tractor cause I was counting on being able to go to the hardware store and get some more primer.

Well no updates yet on anything because I just now am getting my new desktop tuned in. I'm waiting on a SD card to USB converter so I can upload pics and edit videos. That's why there's been no updates. But get ready for some serious updates because a lot has been done here lately and there is a lot more in the making!

Well I got myself a job at a machine shop. I start monday and I think I'll like working there, it's a small kind of hole in the wall place which I like. I'll be working full time from 7-3:30 so it'll be nice not having to worry about what time I'm supposed to be there everyday unlike other jobs that constantly change your work schedule. Plus iI'll be able to come home and have time to work on my projects and have some money to spend on them!

So to those who have been to haspin. I have a stock wheel horse classic with the side shaft kholer i will do a pully swap before haspin ive never been. And also i plan to either beef up and modify the crap out of my MTD yard machines or lock the peerless mst206 in my murray widebody pully swap it and beef the font end up a bit. What should i do the the wheel horse and what do you guys suggest i should focus on the yard machines or the murray. The yard machines is almost ready while the murray i only got it running so far and cleaned up some. They both need a bit of work before so what should i focus on here

I’d focus on the murray. The MTD just isn’t a great platform for serious off roading. As for the wheel horse, lock it, tires, and run some antifreeze in the front tires to move your center of gravity lower and keep the weight bias towards the front.
For both tractors: lower the center of gravity as low as possible without sacrificing ground clearance. My tractor has 18” back tires and does pretty well at haspin as long as I stay out of the mud. I have enough ground clearance for MOST obstacles and I can get around whatever I can’t get over/through in most cases.

Consider getting beet juice ballast (rim gard) from your local farm equipment dealer. It is heavy and it won’t rot your rims either.

I dont have a large budget here ither and ive never locked a diff the wheel horse has ag tires in the back the bigger ones and i plan to leave it stock because i have no experience in wheel horses and to me they seem like a untouchable something i dont wanna mess up. The murray is a good platform and runs the best of all my mowers at the moment. They yard machines i have two parts mowers for its pully swapped and ive already beat the snot outta it and its done fine for what i need it too. But im worried im gonna break the wheel horse or the murray real bad. Im not super worried about the murray since im sure some body will bring a spare mst206 and i also dont have money for any good offroad tires for the murray so im going to throw my best set on it and i still am afraid of locking my diffs. But the murray im gonna regrease the rear end and try to lock it

I’d say if you want to try a locker I’d doc lock an FNR off the parts machine and swap it in your yard machine. It isn’t too complex as compared to welding a diff and you have a spare tranny if need be. Just my 2 c

Ive got two spare fnrs anybody have experience lifting a yard machine and bypassing the varidrive on the newer stamped chassis? I have all the stuff to do it and if i build a lift for it i can run bigger tires and lower the seat intk the body and ive got motors and stuff i could set up a real nice chassis

Never worked on a vari-drive, but are you confident with operating the machine at only one speed less throttle? At Haspin in the mud and tight trails that might not work. I’d say that the easiest thing to do would be delete the variatior and put on some kind of CV clutch on the crankshaft or swap over to a peerless 700 but that’s expensive in my mind.

With a centrifugal clutch you’ll need good brakes. You will NEED them. You can’t engine brake with a centrifugal clutch and every trail is steep. You or another rider will get seriously hurt without any way to slow down

New mower, what should I do with it? GT6000, don't have the deck, with the coveted 633A transaxle! Belt twist, 20 hp Kohler vtwin. Not sure why it was parked when I got my hands on it. The key switch is missing. I put gas in it and jumped it to the starter and it runs and drives perfectly. Battery is dated May of 2008.

Paint it red, put a snapper hood on it, and document @RichieRichOverdrive's reaction. Just kidding, I'd do dual stacks with flappers, bar treads and make her a work horse.
