| Anyone ever owned or modified one of these? Interesting mower... 43” cut, 15 oppy , and right foot clutch. In the classifieds for 200. Wondering what type trans this uses and if it’s strong enough to overclock and beat on. | |

| It’s a peerless 930 most likely, possibly a 920. The knuckles are pretty delicate and hard to find parts for, but the transaxle takes being sped up just like any peerless. My first CraftsmanQuad was built on a grey version of that tractor, and most of @redzz02’s tractors are built off that frame. Noma is the manufacturer, and they also make dynamark, among others. Here is mine from way back in the day: I’m surprised @Murraymountain remembered lol | |

| Thanks for the info on this. After talking to him I can get it for 175. I told him I would think on it. You think it’s worth it? Engine is supposed to be in good shape...says it runs and don’t smoke. I never owned an oppy though and don’t know much about them. I | |

| Oppys are pretty well loved around here, they aren’t bad. And a standard transaxle can always be swapped in later in case this one kicks the bucket. The biggest thing is the frames are pretty flimsy. I’d tear it down and plate the top like I did, and additionally I would brace it the way @Creepycrawler is doing his AMF tractor. After you do that you’ll have a pretty stout tractor | |

Heh... I read the original thread. I always wondered why they looked similar to a Dynamark.... Never put 2 and 2 together I guess. 175 isn't bad considering you're getting AWS parts and a good running oppy. The oppy is worth a good 100 bucks, and on the other hand, if you ever wanted to do a 4WD tractor, your steering parts are already there. Not that you should part it out, but hey, if you don't like the tractor itself....... Endless possibilities, right? | |

| Thanks again for the info. I decided to pass on this mainly because I have too many mowers lying around I need to do something with. I still like to look daily for some good deals and possible a rare type mower. Older mowers seem hard to find around here anymore. | |

| My idea for a 4wd mower was to use an aws transaxle tractor and leave it rear wheel steer, then add another aws transaxle in the front so it's still four wheel steer. Since they don't turn that sharp. Too bad the knuckles are kinda weak though or it would be nice to use them. | |
