I'm jealous. I hope we get snow like right after the MM is finished. Would make a good final video. (And maybe it would make up for the last years flurries. LOL)

BAH.... weatherman is saying 29° and Ice for us in central OK Monday. BAH...
Winter time means winter driving! Ah yeah, passing 20mph cars in a blizzard on my motorcycle going 50. Passing people with my car and then flipping up the rear view mirror as they shine their high beams at me in anger. The sound of people's horns blowing at me and angry people snow blowing their driveway and throwing up their hands as I blast by at 10 over the speed limit with 2" of snow on the road......
Of course now and then you mis-judge a little
Really should invest in some winter rally tires for this year
Decided today would be a good day to slap some new parts in my trucks Thermoquad... got it all back together and on the truck. Heres the moment of truth! Aaaannnd it floods. Arrgghhh.
I got mad and went to do something else.
So, back at it... turns out, the floats was adjusted wrong... what they called the bottom of the float, wasnt what I called the bottom. There is kind of a step in it, and I measured from the lowest point on the float.
So back together, no flooding!
Ofcourse... its never that simple. Now it dont want to idle. Its running 1000-1100 rpms, but if I blip the throttle its starts to idle down and down... and down to a point where it seems like its going to die.
I know the new gasket under the carb is a slightly different height so im wondering if maybe the throttle cable needs adjusted to compensate.
Ill check all the vacuum lines again too.

LOL, I see Might was busy after midnight last night.
Good to hear you figured out the flooding on the ol' Muscle Truck Beal. Did you ever try tinkering with the idle mixture screws to fix the idling problem?

I havnt, I need a vacuum gauge to do it properly. Im not sure if thats gong to be my problem, prior to it flooding it seemed to idle just fine.
Fiddled with it some more, adjusted the throttle cable. Got it to idle down and idled for about 10 mins so maybe that was it. Took it for a short drive and it dont want to idle down. Doah.

Got about 4" of snow Monday night, haven't had school the past two days. Tuesday I was out there enjoying myself on Budgie and the go kart, lots of fun. It's all melted now, or according to my 3 year old niece, "The geeses ate it all"
Quick PSA, WEAR YOUR SAFETY SPECTACLES! Today I had to go to the eye doctor and had some pieces of metal dug out of my eye. Man, that sucked. Those eye drops they prescribe you aren't cheap, either. Insurance might pay for the most of it, but let me tell you, you won't hear the end of it from the lady in your family. Plus I have a bandage contact in my eye, which doubly sucks because I'v never had a contact in before. Overall, 0/10, gross experience, would not recommend.
Uh oh, that experience sounds all too familiar. They put the freezing drops in my eye too, that was an odd feeling for sure. Didn't feel as bad as the shard of steel that was originally in there though, haha.

Been a little bum'd past few days. My 60gal air compressor tank sprang a leak. No biggie, I've welded pin holes on one of my mini portable tanks and it worked out well. Cleaning up the tank around the pin hole for welding revealed hairline cracks in multiple directions headed up under the motor plate. I decided to not go any further with repair to the tank as I really don't want a 140psi time bomb. I hauled it out. Was on the marketplace today and saw a 60gal tank without the motor. Perfect! I hope to pick that up tomorrow! Now I will have a tank for other projects.

Showing off my brother's Rally ( Re-branded Craftsman GT6000)...
He's putting the new cast iron front axle in now. Has a 16 horse oppy that sounds like a Harley at idle, and an 820 he's still gotta put together. It did about 30-40 MPH before he took it apart... Poor motor couldn't keep up with the ratio. He put a gas pedal on today, it's super responsive. Gonna have to take it on the open road to find the top speed since we were never able to get it to full speed. He's putting this machine back together since the stamped frame is out of commission.

Surprised he was able to bog down that oppy. Granted, it’s a smaller one but an oppy is an oppy and they have a lot of torque. Was he just overdriving the pulleys or did he do an aftermarket final drive?

Well, the throttle body is all jacked up and once you mess with those on an oppy you can never get it right again. The hand throttle he was using was pretty sketchy too. But with his new gas pedal that allows full power to the engine (it's also ungoverned), it should be able to keep up okay now. He is definitely overdriving the the pulleys right now. He will be doing the gear swap Stretch did but right now he's running a 3" front pulley to a 3/4" rear pulley. I know that's pretty small but he wanted fast, so until he gets the new gears he's running those.

Throttle body? If you mean carb then yeah it's true the oppy carbs can be a bit finicky at times.
Okay a lot finicky.....
Hahaha, oh I suppose they're not bad. I've had some real frustrating experiences with them, but once you get them working right they're pretty good really.

I use the "posts since last visit" as my primary means of checking the forum. Lately, it has not behaved properly for me. Has it messed up for anyone else? I have my suspicions of the issue, if just me.

I've been trying to get the MM's part 2 of the final video ready using DaVinci Resolve and it's about to drive me crazy... Got the 8 videos spliced together to find out it only did the audio. Gonna end up with 10 different videos.... . Whatever.
