Very cool tidbit of information. Hey mighty, you think we can make some threads that pool information about certain engines? Like the Kohler K series, Briggs singles, Briggs opposed, vanguards, Honda GX, stuff like that. Like a tech article outlining all the quirks and weak points of every common engine

And maybe a thread outlining all the common transaxles and how to tell the differences?

THAT WOULD BE A VERY NEAT IDEA!!! EXTREMELY HELPFUL! A Thread about the B&S Flatheads, B&S OHVs, B&S Oppys, B&S Vanguards, B&S Inteks, MSTs, 820s, 600s, 9302, 920s, ...... where everyone can tell their problems, fixes, improvements, review,....

Well, somewhere for, say, what parts are compatible with what for instance. For example, I've been researching the whole electric start kit for the 212, and it's kind complicated, some parts fit the hemi, some don't, and I've had to kinda piece together little facts here and there to figure out what I'm buying. I think that would be handy if that instead was one thread.

@Double W Cross Ranch I see an electric start clone motor is about 2 to 3 times the cost of the engine you bought.  How much are the parts to convert your to electric start?

Start a topic in the Tech forums.... there are a couple places it could go.  In the clone section or starters.

Why not just find a good engine with electric start. You don't even need electric start on a 212 they're so easy starting.

The Honda GX series starter fits the hemi and non-hemi 212s, it bolts on to a casting on the block that the low oil cutoff is currently.



The Honda GX series flywheel fits the non-hemis, but not the hemis, something about the crankshaft tip. Kohler makes a flywheel that fits the hemis that is compatible with the Honda starter.

Together, the flywheel and the starter is $70. Why am I going to spend that money on electric start? Because throughout the whole build, all of ya'll have said to be unique and original. Ya'll meant leave the Kohler in it. Probably about 99.5% of all 110s have the stock engine in it. After I put electric start on the predator, how many 110s will there be with a Hemi 212 with electric start? Probably only one. That sounds unique and original to me. Just taking ya'lls advice, LOL.

@Double W Cross Ranch Does the flywheel and starter also come with the charging coil and regulator too or is that extra?

@Double W Cross Ranch If that all goes according to plan that sounds like a good price for electric start and a charging system.  Once you have an electrical sysem you can get some LED lights too.

Hi guys new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me. I have a Mtd yard machine 16.5 hp and was wondering if anyone knows if 25 Honda big red tires will fit underneath. I want to weld Honda hubs on to stock mtd hubs. Looks like it will fit with small body trimming but thought I would reach out if anyone has done this before. Thanks

25s are pretty big...your transaxle probably wouldn’t last long but they may physically fit
