If that's the case, it's nothing I haven't faced before. I dealt with both of those issues with the 820.

Been a couple weeks finally found some time to get a few things done. In short:
*Rear fender lift to clear tires
*Seat suspension
*Winch mounted
*Front bumper built/modded
*Fuel tank mounted
*Grille and hood separated like Fugazi, hood hinges at rear, grille solidly mounted to frame.

Boss looks good. Sorry can't be too much help with the baja bar.  That rig looks good with or without it so I am 50/50.  Of your builds you have done, this one looks to be a good one for it.

Diesels must fall in your lap.  LOL.   Cheers 2

Yah, leave the baja bar off. LED's in the original light spot would look good, gives it a robot look. I like robots, LOL. You want the red paint to pop then you can do a painting technique, forgot what it is called though but you will need to use a paint gun and mix the paint yourself. It's a high gloss finish too.

The steps are- paint the entire surface red, next you need to mix the red with clear at a ratio of 80% red and 20% clear and paint next layer over the red, next mix red with clear at a ratio of 60% red and 40% clear and paint next layer over the layer you just painted. You get the idea, at a 20% reduction in red per layer. Then last layer is completely clear. This paint job, when the light hits the paint will trap the light and make it move slowly through the paint is turn will be way brighter then the red color itself. It will kinda look like the paint is glowing in the light. You can also ghost an image inbetween the layers since you can see through the layers, for a more custom and personal touch.

What size pulley do you have on the motor right now?

As always, your build looks awesome. Personally, I would leave the baja bar off, but ultimately- your call. Bumper looks awesome, but maybe a bit of a hoop on top of the bumper would finish the bumper nicely.

Looks like you may have enough room Infront of the console for a small onboard air system

Wow... Between here, FB, and YouTube, I think we're at 50/50 for the Baja bar. Deciding will be harder than I thought!
It's good to see so many people weighing in, nice to know folks are paying attention. If this goes the way it looks like it's going, I'm probably gonna part out or sell Suburban Commando. I really only need so many lights.

Current engine pulley is 7". I had a 6" on there that I swiped from CentsLess, then I sold CentsLess... Complete. So, I had to run out and buy another pulley. I got a 7" because the transaxle pulley is already about as small as it's gonna get, like 4" or something.

If you do any nite riding, the more light the better, maybe use some sort of quick disconnect system

Wow even revving that diesel to a very tame 3400 rpm you should top out about 18 mph.  That's pretty quick for a heavy Wheel Horse.  I definitely recommend using rear wheel spacers like you are to widen the track width.

Does your uni-drive trans have 1" or the 1 1/8" axle diameter?

It would kinda be a shame to see you sell suburban comando but hey on to bigger and better things and I bet that rig could fetch a nice price.

Commando would bring a nice price. I say sell it rather than part it out, but ultimately that’s your call. Maybe put an ad out seeing what people will trade for it...could be interesting

I like the baja bumper and lights more. But unless you plan on doing more romping at night, seems kind of pointless to have the lights.

With ANOTHER heat wave gone (and another about to start), I'm fighting to keep up. But, I got most of yesterday to myself- and made good with the time.

I fabbed up a pair of kickass tubular footboards for it, using 3/4" EMT (electrical conduit) and an old atv/bike loading ramp. I'm really happy with the results. Solid as heck, great traction for muddy boots, and only cost me about $10.

STILL stuck on color selection, dammit.

I also picked up a little catch for the hood, and threw that on. Progress is progressing. Video link, then some stills:

Very nice with the footboards!  I like the Idea of an Idler up high to go around.  Should give you more gripping belt surface on your engine and transaxle pulleys as well!

Thanks for the props, guys. I'm absolutely stoked about this build. This is the fire I have been missing!
It's amazing how much more motivated you are to build something, when you're really looking forward to it. yes, life happens, things get busy, and these damned heat waves (which I'm gonna try REALLY hard to remember when I'm freezing my @$$ off next February) really take it out of you, too- but still- I manage to free up a day, and I WANT to work on it! I think I mentioned this in the last video, but I think I'm gonna deep-six Suburban Commando when Boss Hoss is complete. Commando was great- Boss Hoss will be better. Stay tooned!
