| I've looked for anything on this subject but can't find anything other than a few people mentioning they use it, basically i'm trying to find out about the flipped gear method of locking my mst205 in my murray, how to do it, how reliable is it and what are the shortcomings of using this method to lock a transaxle, eventually i'll be putting in a doc locker, but until then i'm looking for a way to lock it without costing me much if anything | |

| The only "flipped gear" method I've heard of is one that only works in a planryery gear differential like in an old Roper or Wheel Horse transaxle. Not sure if there's a way to do it for your standard lawn traxtor trans like an MST series. | Flipped 'em for ya, again But yeah, I din't think the flipped gear method can be applied to these types of differentials. I've also heard that in the old multi-pinion differentials like I mentioned before, it's a bad idea to flip the gears without welding because it will cause the gears to blow. Not sure if it's true it not but that's what I've heard. | The flipped gear method is for the GT transaxles like the roper 633, peerless 2300, and wheel horse transaxles | |

| @AllisKidD21 thanks man ! Greatly appreciated . I have no clue why it does that to just those pictures but yes I agree with you . Also the method of adding the spiders (like I did with welding as you can see) . some people that I've seen, don't weld it to finish it off. ( I mean welding is very fun and entertaining in my opinion so why not?) Which I may be wrong but I feel there would a awkward outward force with the axle spiders trying to push the added gears outwards and essentially annihilate the bull gear and possibly the case without the welds | |

| No problem! Haha. Yeah welding it all together seems like it'd be more reliable than just putting the two extra spider gears in.
Also CQ I don't think it'd work in a 2300 because they have a convential spider gear setup inside a big carrier. Mighty used the fozzy locking methond for the 2300 in Kal. so this method would probably work with the transaxle in my brothers wheelhorse b80 but not my mst, the references I found didn't say anything about what transaxle was used so I wasn't sure if it would work with my murray transaxle, i'll look into some of the other methods mentioned or leave it open tilli can put in a doc locker | |
