It was a Craftsman front-end bucket and a rear sleeve hitch, both for $300. It was up for less than 14 hours.

You would be correct! Ive been after an 820 and a vanny since I started because I knew how durable they are. MSTs aint bad for where I'm at, and very common, but haspin is a whole new level

I would reinforce the Murray and swap the Vanguard in, so you have 2 good rigs, the CQ and the 820-Vanguard-GT. AFAIK the Vanguard parts are very expensive, so you will pay 50+$ for the damn shroud

Nah, I’m building a whole new tractor and it’s not the Murray. I’m calling it the CraftsmanQuad Mark II, or just MK2 for short. I’ll make a thread outlining the build as soon as I get the frame. I have very specific build plans and a specific chassis I’m looking for, and I won’t settle. Not for the kind of money I want to put into it

Get an old garden tractor frame, like my JD or something. The whole thing is 3/8s inch steel with reinforcements all along it already. It weighs like 280 pounds and is not going to flex.

That is what I was thinking. It is 6 Speed on the fender.

Clean as it is. 54 inch mower would cut some time in mowing in my yard from a 42 inch. Flat and not many obstacles. I have an engine I could drop in.
