Well my over beefing up the tranny paid off. Didn't think I could tow it but ended up handling the job nicely.

I'm having problems putting a new profile picture. Can somebody please help me?

Never mind. I'm a liar. Stupid shadows in the way though. Hard to see it well.

Well, let me begin with this on the story. You know how soldiers make trench art on their equipment while sitting in their fox holes, well, I live and work in the ghetto basically and when you see some really cool art work here, well I call it ghetto trench art and usually has a story behind it for inspiration of the art work.

So, on the day in question. I left work at my regular time and missed the whole thing, as usual, LOL. There are people who stay later to finish work for the day and leave a half hour later. They closed up the shop for the night, got in their cars to leave and they started to pull out of the parking lot. Then at that time when they was leaving, a shooting occurred. One gunman shooting at a couple people on the street running away. No clue why. Bullets flying everywhere. While this was happening, a bullet hits my friends Nitro in the cargo area. Police actually came and caught the gunman, That rarely happens here. Anyways my friend, must have been an off day for him because he is usually packing heat, had nothing that day. You can't see it in the shadows of the back window but you know those little stick figures of the family on the back window, well his are guns and a lot of them, LOL.

Well, the next day, I heard about it. Went to go see my friend a few days later in the office and he showed me the bullet hole in his Nitro. He glassed it so it wouldn't rust. He talked to his insurance guy on what we wanted to do and the insurance guy gave him the cash for the repair. Cool thing on their part. My friend found an old school pinstriper and did this to his Nitro, LOL. Even cooler...........

Hahaha, that is awesome!! Kinda crazy that it just randomly happened though.

Not so bad at my job but I still hear gun shots off in the distance a couple streets down every now and then when working or on lunch break. My coworkers mainly live in the suburbs and really don't deal with this sort of thing. I laughed about it, and told them I'll bring in some video surveillance footage from the camera's on my house that would really freak them out. LOL.

I used to work in the ghetto too.  I've got stories I shouldn't share here lol.  It was entertaining but dangerous at the same time.  Thanks for sharing that story and I like the art done to the bullet hole.

Wow, what a story!

Well I bough this beauty today. Its a 1991 Dodge Dakota. 4x4, Manual, 3 inch lift on 33s. I like it already. I think I got a pretty good deal at 700$
It needs:
Brake work
Some body work an a bit of paint
A new passengers floor panel
A parking brake cable
A power steering hose
And maybe a few more little things.
It's my new summer project and I hope to have time to work on the build off too. Since the craftsman is not really gonna get anything more done to it but maybe a clutch, The lt130 is in its finishing touches, the cub is soon gonna be driving and all my other projects are coming to a close. The good thing about this truck is that I have a parts truck for it, another first gen Dakota with the same engine. Funnily enough, the guy wanted to buy my old truck, and he even previously owned it. Anyways. Enough ranting. Here's some pictures.

I didn't hear engine or transmission work so that sounds like an excellent deal!

Looks like a fun little truck! What's the milage?

I think the mileage is about 240KM or about 150M. I have not tested the transmission yet but it runs just fine. Can't have much go wrong with a manual though apart from the clutch being shot.

Cool looking rig there muck! What's the engine in those trucks again? A V6 of some sort?

Definitely a cool first truck.  I bought a $700 S10 years ago and had a blast working on it to make it road worthy for me.

Nice. That's the plan, make it road legal and then maybe put a flat deck on it. Just because I like them and they add some space.

The slip in bed liner was kinda rat bagged because the previous previous owner installed the roll bar and they didn't cut clean at all. It looks like the corners have been smashed out with a hammer. I agree it doesn't look bad like that, but I always wanted a flatbed and on a short box it should be cheap and look sweet. I want to make a wooden flat deck because it is wooden is cheaper and it would look better. The roll cage might stay on but I will have to modify it. I think I can get some good money out of the box because the interior of it is not dinged up at all. I kinda was thinking of putting a turbo on my other Dakota and now this one, but they are expensive and even if I find one at a scrapyard it would still be like 400$ probably and I don't want an eBay turbo for sure.
