Wow, twins! Well almost  I really like the colour scheme, it's very eye catching.

What do you have in mind as far as brush guard?

Umm ya need more tread on those rears!!! Hehe . Looking good. Test drive soon?

The blue does look good out in the sun.  Interesting how different these tractors are yet their hoods are almost identical.

Lol thanks everyone. Yeah. The hood on red is from an 85 that I put on a wide body. Kal is an 82.

What is your rear with measurement from outside of tire to outside of other tire?

32 inches center-line to center-line, track width REAR. 42 inches outer width On the rear.

33 FRONT center to center, 41 outer.

Here ya go @AllisKidD21 I said I would show a couple pix. The gear side if I was thinking would have been the side I put a pin, but I ended up welding it, but I had to be careful dirty and quick as to not melt the bushing.

Steering works great!  Just one thing.  I need to change my steering rod from a ball joint to a heim.  There is a little play and it is the ball joints.


Core is done at this point. Now I need to work on...

• need dust caps and the washer to hold them on for front wheels.

• build a battery cover

Looks great Mighty! Should be much more reliable than that rag joint.

That should work great!  That steering looks just like the steering in my Roper.

It is WAAAYYY more solid than that rag joint.  I did cut the 5/8 rod the gear is on into a square so it fit in the socket before welding.

It does work pretty good.

lol i still need an engine pulley.  I ran out of tractor funds for the month.

I like the chrome piece on the steering column. Good to see that the steering worked out. What are you thinking for a battery cover?

I have an old dryer lid or an old 50's lateral cabinet doors.  I was planing on cutting one of those up and bending it into the shape of what is missing.  Question is.  Can I do it?  I do not know, but I am going to give it a try!

now to find some cardboard to make a template.

Not too bad of a sheet metal part to make from one piece.  I would carefully measure the shape I'd want. Make one from cardboard like you said is a good idea so you can see if you're happy with the shape or not.  You just have to design in some tabs into the sheetmetal layout that you can fold over and allow you to rivet the sides of the piece to the top of it.  Were you planning on welding it instead?

In the photo of the stock one, it's bolted on to the side.  Do you plan to do that Mighty?

WOW, a few days not on, worked too hard on my mower, and Kal-El is getting ready very fast! I missed much! I think i do'nt need to wait too long for a test drive

I have not thought of riveting the part together.  I may look into that as an option.

It's been nice weather finally and I have needed to get some life stresses out.

did make a template and transfer that to my dryer lid I had.

Nice work man! Sheet metal work can take a lot of planning and it pays off.

It's been a busy week here... 

I did score some goodies while visiting my parents this evening.  I may just have to try one of them out?
