Starter troubles - Bendix not engaging Empty

When I go to turn on my mower my starter gear just spins it won't go up and grab the flywheel it just stays on the bottom and spins

your benix is sticking- remove the gear and assembly on the top of the starter, clean it, lube it. i lube mine with powdered graphite. some guys use spray lithium grease or sillicone spray.

in the future, please use the forum search function, im sure we have had similar threads and you could have easily figured it out.

Always best to use a dry lube. Wet lubes attract dirt and can cause recurring problems.
