| Hey guys the spark plug wire in my kohler command is shot, anybody know how to replace just the wire it is connected directly to the magneto, its a long shot but if its possible ill try it.
I have a kohler command 14 hp magneto that im going to put into the 12.5 but I would hate to decommission that motor over the magneto.

| you might be able to do it. i've never pulled one apart before. I know a spark plug wire is universal.

| What does the wire look like? I've cut open a new car's plug wire and apperently its grafite something or other inside. Black, feels like a pillow feather, and nothing gets on your hands when you touch it. Never knew about it until i saw it, i was in shock expecting wires. | |

| this one isn't really removable from the looks of it, most plug wires have a snap connector on both the spark plug side and the coil/distributor side, this one looks permanently mated to the coil/magneto.
EDIT: the wire itself is a regular spark plug wire it is just permanently connected to the coil and I want to seperate the two so I can put a new wire on it.

| Can you get a photo of the coil? some of them have a seam down the middle of the plastic part you might be able to split?

| im pretty sure you can just cut it and leave some slack and sodder some new sparkplug wire on and wrap it with some electrical tape or use some shrink wrap...... I could be wrong tho | |

| if the coil wire is a metal core then you can repair/replace the wire. although i dont reccomend this for a long term repair,it can be done.check ebay for a coil replacement | |
