Hood rack?

I am toying with the idea of adding a rack or flat tie-down area on the hood of my Murray. Anyone done this or seen it done? Sometimes I carry large feed sacks and it would be nice to be able to throw a couple on the hood rack and go. I'm just afraid that if I place them on the hood as-is they will either fall off and rupture all over the ground or the hood will warp under the weight of 50-100lbs of feed.

Do you think the hood would hold this kind of weight going over very hilly terrain without warping if I just bold a rack to the hood. Any ideas on adding some framework inside the hood to support the weight?

I just haven't seen this done anywhere yet so I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Any input or ideas would be appreciated.

Here are my two hood racks. One is a pepsi crate, the other is a coke crate. Both plastic. Both bolted down. Both hold an awful lot of weight.
