Belt questions?

Im thinking of putting a 6" front and a 4" rear for my murray. will i have any problems with belt slippage or burning up too fast? and is this a good ratio for torque and speed?

No shouldnt burn up at all. I think the rule of thumb is nothing smaller then 3" for offroad (or else under water the belt might slip) Its pretty fast, id expect mid 20's mph ish, and should still crawl in 1st. With out a mowing deck, you should have plenty on HP if it runs good.

that is the same pulleys I have on m murray. it goes about 20, if your mower has the spicer it should be about 35. the peerless has a 15:1 and the spicer has a 9:1 ratio in high gear. i'm looking for ways to speed it up like scheretch did soon.
