| Why? Looks? Because it's totally unnecessary if your engine is working properly. | |

| Marine radio. Really. What could be more water-friendly... LOL. Seriously though... Why make it HARDER to hear the sweet sound of the engine? | |

| I've got a Sony marine stereo on my Harley. Works great. I'm always cranking tunes on the Harley. But somehow I just can't imagine music on my tractor. I guess it would be nice after reaching a destination and pulling over and having tunes and a couple adult beverages lol! But I don't listen to music on the trail. I think I like the sound of the machinery better somehow. | |

| With that much ventilation I dont think you really need one. Maybe if you had an enclosed engine bay it would be more practical. Id search around junkyards and scrapped cars for radiator fans if its just for looks. | Great suggestion Doug! I actually made time in my schedule for tomorrow to go to the transfer station and scrounge for metal stuff. Sometimes I fall into the trap of buying new, but we all should remind eachother regularly how much great stuff people throw away and how much great stuff can be found in junkyards too! Radiator fans should be a dome a dozen. | |

| Those so called Marine Stereo's are only splash proof, unless you mount it in box. Cause mostly they are open in the back. I know the Fusion Marine Stereo has a cast 100% waterproof case tho. And thos fan's are cool | |

| We always made out radios easy to remove in 30 seconds or so. That way we could just pop them out. We didn't care about the speakers because we have alot of them. Most of the time a little water wont hurt the speaker unless you have cheap cardboard ones. | |

| I have used fans in the past because of the work I was doing with the mower. Slow moving and working hard. Like fencing and pulling a heavy trailer through some tough going. Just extra insurance on a hot day and working hard. In the same conditions, having a radio to listen to is nice. I have made them removable, as someone else mentioned. I plan on installing one on my upcoming build. I use my mowers for fun and work. So, I try and think of both when I build them. A radio is a must have for me, simply because of how much I am on it. Quick disconnect for trail riding. | |
