I'm wanting to change the pulley on my tractor, I get to the part where it should slide off but its seized on there?  any secrets to get it off? and whats the easiest way? threw the back? or is there a way to remove the rear fenders?

I think we have the same front tires! What size are yours?

There is usually a retaining bolt holding the pulley on. Have you gotten that off? You may well have to remove your transaxle to have the best shot at getting it off. You may want to buy or rent a 3-jaw puller if you dont have one.

like doc said, make sure you removed the set screws, sometimes there is 2. from there, soak the piss out of it with PB blaster or similar. then get a puller and pop it off.. if its really stubborn, you may have to cut it off

Oh, nice rig. Yeah id get a 3 jay puller, use some heat too. what i usually do is hole saw the pully off, leaving just the big metal coller on the shaft. then heat that up real good, and pull it off.

thanks guys!!.. I was hoping not to have to remove the transaxle but I guess I gotta, I was just watching a youtube vid from redneckcomputergeek and he had a how to as well..

I think the fronts are 16".. I always run snow blower tires on front..

Yeah- Mine are 4.80x8 (16") and I believe they were originally for a snowblower. Look familiar?

Thank you. I was going to say that it's not quite done yet, theres a few things I still need to do. Then I realized how silly that was... Things like this are NEVER done. There's always room for improvement whether you've realized it or not.
