| i have one monster mower but the chain kept popping and decided to make it a road mower but i finally fixed the chain situation this weekend but i already started to make this one plus my friend has 2 so i gotta have two lol, after mudding and my friend having complications with his mower he decided to sell it to me for 25$ thats what it looked like when i first got it it has a 15.5 ohv(hate ohv's) this is what it looked like at my house with a new hood then here starts the mods thats the front axle and the second to last pic shows the amount of flex it will have, i am also putting shocks onto it 6 spd tranny hope the 6 spd lasts me because this is the one bushing on the shaft and i couldnt replace it so it wiggles around alot the back end the pulley still needs done, fully welded and rienforcements | |

| Chunk: You could use a square pillow block bering - only real issue id see is getting the extended input shaft straight ( no wobbling). For best results id use two berings - one near the bottom- one near the top. | |

| Its just more for the fact the input shaft on my lawn mowing tractor has eaten into the tranny case! Can get away with fitting a new bushing or something, just not sure where to get one. | |

| Since its done that- id match one up at the auto parts store - large enough for the input shaft, small enough for the case. | |

| Awesome, isn't the exhaust going to blow in your face though? The camo paint will be cool. What size angle steel did you use and what gauge? | |

| k guys heres how im doing the rearend first i took two old big pulleys and cut out the centers, then i slid the centers onto a 5/8 shaft and welded all around this will act as a cupling for the input shaft and 5/8 shaft extension then i got a jackshaft bearing or you could use a pillowblock bearing i welded the bearing mount to a solid brace to keep the shaft from moving back and forth, this suports the shaft and will keep it from ripping out your input shaft this is it all together you just add keys, set screws and a pulley on top with a little snap ring grove to hold it all on and heres some pics in the light still needs more work paint, welding, and still doesnt move | |

| That beast is looking awesome, like the shaft idea, but I have 2 concerns. 1: keeping those set screws tight and 2: that mild steel rod as a shaft. I can't say for sure but I think an old axle would probly be stronger? Hope your setup works tho. You've definitely put alot of work into it and I hope it works well! I have thought about a setup like that, but I was thinking about using a small U-joint (from a steering shaft of a car) in there somewhere to keep it turning smooth. Just throwin out some Ideas don't hate lol. I'm going to have to start building a monster as well, I will accept any and all criticism from you gratefully lol !

I've got a very good running 1966 2 1/4 HP Briggs horizontal shaft! out of a power trowel made by Master Vibrator LOL , got the motor for free, put n a pedal bike. I'll post up pics when I find 'em ! | |
