| anyone built up a honda 160 or 200 before? which is better and is it worth dropping the money on? i want to eventually modify and build a mini buggy. 1 seater. and was wondering what would be best? or buy a used 4 wheeler engine | |

| It really depends on what you can get your hands on, what your budget looks like, and what you want to accomplish. The Honda GX series is, IMHO probably the best horizontal OPE engine series available. OEM and aftermarket parts support is outstanding, and so is the knowledge and information available. HOWEVER-
If you want to build a minibuggy and have some fabrication skills, you're better off to get your hands on a bike or ATV engine. For the amount of money you'd put into the GX, you can not only have a peppy engine, but a multispeed transmission or CVT to go with it. Dollar for dollar, pound for pound, and cube for cube, a bike engine/gearbox will outperform a hopped up OPE engine every day of the week. | |
