| So I've been thinking about how many kg/ pounds / stones they can pull, but more interesting how can we measure and find out?
Keep those ideas coming.
And I'm not talking about custom built pulling tractors, this is for stock or so tractors.

| we can fill a trailer up with 5-pound bricks till it wont pull it DOWN-hill (LOL) then count how many bricks and multiply by five, or use a simple formula like below
(how many bricks)X Weight of bricks + weight of trailer= weight pulled

| Something I can give a semi-educated answer to. The average mower can pull 300lbs/136 kilo of dead weight. With wheels on pulled item, this goes up to about 500lb/226 kilo. Some can go higher, up to 750/340 kilo. I however wouldn't ever try pulling that much without some major modifications to the tractor. Stock... no way. Although I did use a modded craftsman to pull an 18ft camp trailer around the block to reposition it on the property.
deadweight average - 300/136 wheeled average 500/226 absolute max 750/340
Hope that helps. I'm sure people have pulled more, but the durability of nearly every component comes into question much past the average. I would imagine about 1000lbs being absolute maximum for the average lawn tractor. I did use a simplicity 7012H to pull a small (200 gallon) water trailer 2 miles up a mountain road a few times.. but it REALLY did not like it. |

| i pulled 'bout 1500lbs of wood one time on my dads property where we where clearing for a house, there was a lot of holes and uneven ground but it pulled it like nothing. in 6th gear and at idle, never had to feather the clutch, down shift, or rev it. did i mention it was a not-so-reliable '08 crafsman lt 2000 | |

| I pulled a jetski on a newer model Husqvarna with a hydro. The mower didn't seem to mind much, around 500 pound jetski with a bearing problem in a wheel for the trailer..SO these things are tough. | |

| My 12.5 MTD with vari drive could pull my 2000 pound boat with no problems what so ever, but then again, so could my John Deere 8hp RER Except for the tendency to wheelie if I pulled to hard | |

| my Ariens pulled 1500lbs pulling sled last year and got down half the track, so it when it stoped was about 2100lbs, full pull is about 3100lbs and hydros where doing full pulls all day. Now there are two pulling sleds one is a 2000lbs at start, half way 2700lbs, full pull is 3600lbs, same thing hydros where doing full pulls all day with the peerless 820's and 600's mst205 or what ever fearless front has in his murray. | |
