| Im looking for an idea for an exhaust for my tractor. I was thinking it would be cool to run it under the body and have it come out right before the rear tires so it would look like one of those old hot rods. what do you think? any other ideas of what i could do? The only thing i dont want is stacks. | |

| That's similar to what my exhaust does, except mine come out about halfway down the foot boards... It is pretty loud, but sounds awesome | |

| Exhaust for threaded exhaust ports is simply a matter of threading together pieces of pipe.
If you dont have a threaded exhaust port. You can make yourself an exhaust flange and either weld a threaded nipple to it, or NEW IDEA JUST NOW,
Got to a home depot or equivalentand buy a 3/4" malleable iron floor flange. It doens't matter if the holes match, but you'll be able to cut it down and drill it to match your bolting.
Then you can use threaded pipe any way you want.
I cut a flange out of 3/8" plate, and welded a piece of Galvinized flex exhaust hose to it. Then went to a piece of 1" thin wall electrical conduit. (light and cheap)
Whole thing cost me six bucks. | |

| I like those exhaust but I don't care for that kind of pipe and I don't have threaded exhausts. I have the ability to bend pipe so it looks cleaner and flows better but thanks for the ideas if how you did yours. Have you guys ever had it break off through? That's one thing I worry about with it being under the mower. Also I worry about water gettig in there if I stall in deep water | |

| Best way to avoid it breaking off is to weld in a section of flex pipe near the motor and have the rest hang on rubber (or other type) flexible hangars, similar to a car setup. Another way would be to make sure that the pipe doesnt move at all when its on the frame (very strong brackets).
Water could be an issue with plugging the hole if it stalls. Thats why a lot of people prefer to run it high either under the running boards (like Ariens build) or high out by the rear fenders.
If you have it run out low, you could always thread the end of it and make an extra section for a snorkel kit addon if you ever do go into deep water. Head Forum Administrator ** Chat Moderator ** Facebook Page AdminATLTF Facebook Page ** Chatbox ** How To Upload Pictures

| [img] [/img][img] [/img][img] [/img][img] [/img][img] [/img][img] [/img] This was the exhaust build i decided to do it has 2 round pipes going in to one large square pipe with 4 smaller square pipes coming out of it. I dont have a video of it running and i dont have any idea how it sounds yet. I also put 8 inch rims on the front along with some 18in tires. It now has 11inches of clearance in the front and sits just about level | |

| Might want to add a drain plug at the bottom of that. Water will collect in bottom. | |
