| Id start with a 5 speed first so you get a better understanding of how to build them and then build a 10 speed. You could just build a 5 speed and then have a split range box in front to give you a 10 speed, like semi's have. A split range is just a 2 speed gearbox before the main 5 speed box.
If you have a paypal or access to paypal, you can buy any lego part you want on Bricklink.com , that's where i buy all of my lego. [/quote]
thanks for the tip. this is the first time ive ever tried this so im basiclly clueless

thanks for the tip. this is the first time ive ever tried this so im basiclly clueless you forgot the quote tag Have a look at peeron and brickshelf. Peeron has building instruction for official Lego models. 8448 has got a 5 speed with reverse that you can learn from. Brickshelf is basically a huge picture gallery where people upload their models.

| That looks sooooo cool, I love it, well done A suggestion, the second axle on the truck shouldn't be duals, that axle is just for axle weight and would create too much drag on the tires when cornering. That's just a note on real trucks but this is lego so it doesn't really matter. | |

| Ahh lego takes me back.
FIrst there was Meccano.. It was awesome. It had motors and gears and sprockets, and required tools to put toether. I still have a working steam engine that fits meccano.
Then Lego came along, and it was cool. Back in 72, I had a lego semi truck kit, It took me hours to put together.
The K'nex came along and people jumped on it because leo was stale.
Now lego has all this new fan gled cool stuff. and I can't afford to play with it anymore, so i just give it to the nephews, and neice.

Cornish I know about the dummi axal can have a single tire not dualls but that is the UK idea of a dummi axal, here in the US the Semi's have dualls sometimes but only for really heavy loads.

Most of uor trucks up here run full powered tandem or triple axle setups. Only the intown drivers run tag axles. although we do see them on buses.

Well you learn something new everyday. I thought that the second axle had to be singles because of sideways drag. Mind you, our roads are smaller and have steeper corners than yours do so that's probably why I always thought they had to be singles. Now that I've looked on google I see what you mean. I stand corrected .
