| Technic car I got a few years ago for Christmas. V8 engine. Doors, hood, and wing pop out of the back... or atleast supposed to. I misplaced a piece and only the doors open lol. But yeah, Legos are awesome. | |

Which is exactly what Lego is all about! Good on him for actually being creative and using his mind, rather than building what amounts to a 3D plastic puzzle that only goes together one way. It's amazing (and depressing) how things can change. Back when, I had a massive suitcase full of various generic bricks, wheels, etc. I could (and did) build whatever my mind's eye saw. Nowadays, I look at the modern kits (including a few that my kids have, and as flashy as they look, they suck. You lose one lousy specialty part, and you can no longer build the one thing that kit will make... Nice to see there's still people out the scratchbuilding stuff! | |

| Some call me crazy to have a lego collection at 32yo but when my oldest started getting into them I invested about $500 over two years on my own collection so we would have another activity we could do together. Ive got several technic sets plus spair parts from a few incomplete sets, 6' of dozer/tank treads, a few rc (powerfunctions) motors, controllers, receivers, ect. I find these things make for a nice way to hone design skills and inspired creative thinkin. Unfortunately I cant post pics on here for some reason so I cant show you anything ive built. | |
