| Go with a 1:1 then. If it doesnt work out, we'll both have to change our set ups. It depends on the wheel size too though.
Im gonna say go ahead with the 1:1

| Remember, if you've only got 3 gears, your selection of gears is limited! I have a 5 speed on the Murray, so I've got more ratios to choose from. My tractor used to have a 3 in on the back, and it was ok for smooth flat surfaces. It would stall alot offroading if I was in too high of a gear. Sound like your o the right track, but keep in mind that you can always change it later if it's too fast or too slow. | |

| yea i have a 5 speed too so i'm hoping it should be ok. before with the six in front and a 3 in back the only gear with any bit of torque was first gear. if i only had a 3 speed i'd be doing alot of thinking or probably trying to find another trani. so i'm hoping a 1:1 will be full of torque with a decent speed. | |

| Mine should work okay too, being a 6 speed. Yeah, it can always be changed easily later on. | |

yea and i'm feeling even better about it because i stuck this new pulley that i know is 6 inches up against the pulley i have on the motor and it was a fuzz bigger than the motor pulley. i think the motor pulley is 5.5 or 5 inches. pretty sure 5.5 but definetly not six.

yep thats what i got. i've thought about it, but not decided on colors yet. i'm gonna leave the chassis black and paint every thing that is silver now (hood, fenders, foot rests) the same color and probably paint the rims black to match the chassis. right now i'm waiting on my dad to get home with my belt. the suspense is killing me!!!

| Ive seen tractors with painted whitewalls/red wheels ( on a wheelhorse - also had the chrome hubcaps)- also seen some with just the lettering done- both look sharp. | |

| ok guys, i got my belt (2nd try first was too big) and it fits. but it fits alittle too well. when i put in the clutch and shift into gear it starts moving even though i have the clutch in. will the belt stretch enough to eliminate this problem? | |

| Indianaboy93: You might want to look for aftermarket brakes - it would stop the creeping issue. Stock brakes are pretty much worthless on a modifed tractor.
The belts will stretch a bit over time.
My murray would do that, creep in gear, i made sure the way in front was open and let it go when i went in gear - my mild mod MTD does it a lil bit- thats why i blocked off reverse , so i dont hit reverse then forward and flop over .

| Is there not a way to adjust the clutch pulley. Some tractors let you move it in or out to ajust the tension. My alko had a set up like that. And yes, it well stretch. If you stick it on top gear and let it rip it may stretch the belt a little quicker. | |

| i think i didn't explain my situation that well. the belt is alittle too tight, i can have the clutch engaged and just shift into any gear and the belt will grab and make the mower move like i didn't even put the clutch in. the belt is grabbing when it shouldn't. i'm not out too much money because i got one of the black rubber belts (they didn't have any woven in the size i wanted), i'm hoping it will stretch | |
