I say it's a great deal! If it's a sound engine! Any oil leaks?

Being a 12.5 hp pull start, my guess is it's an old flathead engine. Either way, it's still a good engine, providing it doesn't burn oil or leak.

My friend has an 18.5 Intek and it cranks. I still need to clean my own 14 Vanguard, got it for $25 in a Craftsman II body, although my engine is a bit rougher I believe.
Make sure you clean out those jets!
Also if your ID label is still on the blower housing, this will help you find out its characteristics, as well as the make year.
