It's been a few years since I have entered into a build off, and since I just picked up this antique with some plans of making a lowered tractor it seems like a perfect time to enter again.
I'm calling her No Mow Murray because she has mowed her last lawn.

I was hoping to update this evening with my new front axle but the dreaded 2 zaps then nothing from the welder had a different story to tell. I should have new welding wire in the morning and if the rain holds out long enough I hope to get the axle mostly done. Still waiting on the spindles.

I was able to weld up my front axle this morning. I am still waiting for the spindles to come in but here is where I am so far. I drafted up my plans on this lovely white piece of paper and as you can see, each piece fits perfectly!
Next I welded them all up.
Then I did some grinding to smooth the sides down so I could lay my oversized fish plates and completely weld them in and hold everything togeher
Finally, once that was all done I had to see if I did my math right and make sure I had the ground clearance I was going after. There is a one inch spacer under the axle and it is about 1/4" away from the center of the wheel so I am going to put that in the WIN column.
Almost time to start the disassemble process.

Spindles came in today so I went ahead and welded them on. I gave them 10 degrees of caster and 0 degrees of camber. I am pretty happy with the end results. The only thing that changed from yesterday is the clearance for the axle, it is going to be right at 2 inches.
I will have a video posted this evening of the axle if anyone is interested in viewing it.
