If questions aren’t allowed in build threads (threads on a forum are a conversation) I guess I will avoid the build threads. If NO interaction is allowed, what is the point? This is probably one of the reasons the forum traffic has slowed. Too much worry about ‘clutter’. It is a FORUM! A forum is a discussion place. Whatever…

While I 100% agree with this, I believe there was some unnecessary posting in the form of people telling other people to stop asking stupid questions, just my 2 cents, I would say the question was legit, and I'm not 100% sure what to think of the whole clutter thing on BO threads as they are logs of what you did and how you built your tractor, it's possible that at the end of the buildoff or when a build is complete all the update posts should be copied over to another locked thread so when people go to review the build it would be easier?

[mod]Thanks for all the info, I do go back after a while to "clean" up the build threads. I don't delete anything unless it is inappropriate. If that is the case YOU would get a PM from me. It's all good, questions and tips personally are welcome. Sometimes "YOU" as a member may have a great idea. I get that sometimes instead of cluttering up a person's build thread chasing a rabbit can be frustrating. Maybe create a new topic in the appropriate location to continue that conversation. I've been pretty lax over the past year or so trying to appease both sides of the issue. In the past, I have busted the rabbit trail out of the current threads into it's own. I will probably get back to doing that. That way the conversation can continue in an appropriate manner. [/mod]

No big deal on the questions or discussion, I mean maybe if we have a 10 page long discussion on oil viscosity or something. But I’ve gotta be careful not to do that myself so that’s alright. No harm done. Speaking of those shocks, I wonder what kinda pressure is even in them if any when shipped because I never even tried checking them.
Working on the front shock mount. Bolted together before welding connections over the top of the brackets.
Front half of the frame coming together. If you’ll look closely, you’ll see that the strange angels I’m working with here are not at all the most ideal way of doing things. But I really don’t have a very good way to make my cuts angled like that. Also the frame sections that come up to the shock mount are both twisted outward compared with the rest of the frame. Why exactly they ended up like that… uh, I’m not sure, because I should have been able to make the cuts so the were straight. In any case, things are about lined up correctly, so that’s the important thing. I’ll get the connections cleaned up a lot better and add gussets. So it’ll all work out. Just gotta try not to think about it too much…
Thanks. I had to run some structure up under the shocks to hold the panhard bar and the bottom of the grill. Also the front bumper/grab bar will be attached there. There will be some more bracing and gussets, but it took awhile just to get it as straight as I could.
I’m thinking the battery will also go up there. I have a more narrow AGM battery that might work.
