The axle had a ton of play so today I decided to pull it off, the 1/2 inch pin that holds it in was super worn down from 30 years of no greasing, so I cut it out and welded a piece from an mtd spindle on, the MTD had plastic bushings so there was not a mark on it Hit it up with some paint... Decided to paint the spindles up as well
What do you guys think this machine is worth? I think my financial situation is getting bad enough that I might have to sell this thing and start with something new... I have other machines that need money put into them so I can sell them, so this guy has to go ): Do you think $350 is too much? I wouldn't take less then 300 because I have almost $250 in to it in stupid things like tubes and pulleys...

Nice work! Heck man that depends on several factors like overall condition of the machine, what engine and how well does it run, if you have an accessories to go with it and such? I feel time is valuable also so if I've put alot of time into something that makes it worth more in my opinion
Yeah, It's mainly about what people will pay for it, the only accessories it has is a toolbox & 2" hitch receiver, but I might be able to talk up the new pin?
For anyone interested it's a Wheel Horse 210-5 with a Briggs 14.5 HP OHV single ( always run with the governor) with a 6"-4" pulley swap, a peerless 5 speed with a new throttle pedal, brand new belt, the front axle has a new pin welded in and the spindles have been recently cleaned and painted. It also has a rear bracket made of 1/4" 4" angle iron with a 2" hitch receiver and a toolbox (waiting on the receiver, I got a guy who is going to get me one for free but I have to wait for it...) , 3 of the tires have brand new tubes in them and all hold air.
I got a guy who might be willing to give me 500 bucks for it, we'll see what happens but that would definitely make up for the work that went into it and give me some cash to work with on other projects such as my BO entry and other little bits of crap like pressure washers and that terrible STX 38...
Finished up my toolbox/hitch receiver mount today, still needs paint though
Took it for a rip today and this is what I get??? Has anyone else had this problem with their machine? It's all coming out the crankcase vent, I might need a puke tank?

Unless the carb is overflowing oil out I would say that's not the case (Athough the carb does like to fill the intake up if you don't shut the fuel off) I am positive that that is coming from the vent because when I had the airbox on it would plug the filter with oil and then it would run like crap...

Definite sign of crankcase being overfilled. The fact that the carb dumps fuel into the intake when not running means it leaks into the combustion chamber and then seeps past the rings and right on in to your crankcase. With it then being overfull, it’s only escape route is the crank vent. Like they said, smell the oil and if it smells like gas, change it and either find yourself another carb or rebuild that one.

If the crankcase becomes overfilled it will spew the contents out of the breather. Fuel can get into the oil by leaking through the carb if the needle and seat don't seal properly (as it sounds like in your case), into the cylinder and it will seep past the piston rings and into the oil. Water can also make its way in through the exhaust and on some motors the intake too, that's also happened to me!

Have you checked it yet to see if it's overfull and or smells of fuel? I thought of another possible way for fuel to get in... the fuel pump (if the diaphragm is torn) and if I'm not mistaken your motor has a fuel pump ya?

Wish it had one but no, I'm not really going to work on it today, but I will have a look at the oil tommorow and see what I can do...
So got some new oil put in it on Monday, she was working her butt off all week with me hauling as much as probably 500+lbs of wood and crap in my trailer, got some new belt guards made so she stopped throwing the belt for a while but today something was screwed up and I went back into the field to dump some wood and brush and she started throwing belts every time I let off the clutch. I had to walk all the way back and get another lawn tractor, I drove that all the way back there at 5 km/h and then that wouldn't work either, so I had to drive that back and get the truck to finally drag her back to the shop where she will sit until she gets the clutch fixed and hopefully a new briggs V-twin, the clutch swapped over to the left side, a new throttle, a brake pedal and she might be a little more reliable...
