im planning to attempt a plate steel bumper with baja bars which are pinned on so i can open the hood and the whole bumper will bolt to the frame and the rear bumper is gonna be a tube welded to two tubes with a bumper hitch welded on and the whole thing will bolt on and also have an ammo can for storage like the mowercycle gang does

I guess I’ll jump on the bandwagon. Early 2021 I bounced around between my old job and a job at an auto garage, then back to my old job, now currently working at a lawn mower dealership. While I was back working nights at my old job I almost finished a 3 year old project. I’ll attach a picture of what I started with. I’m keeping it under wraps until it’s completely finished but it’ll be a teaser haha. It’s about 87% done at this point.

i traded for a junk dixon zeroturn with the hydro transmissions and hmu for parts they are for sale but i considered building a hydro static side by side i thought if i put a go kart axle further back in the frame and ran a spocket from a hydro transmission to the axle that gives me FNR and just run a 212 predator motor to the jackshaft and use internal gearing from the hydros as my bit of torque. its a 4 lug transmission does anyone know what size sprocket or whatever i should put from the tranmssion to the axle to give me speed? i still want enoughpower to pull a trailer or lawn mower i wanna build a tow rig thats also an offroad toy

If you have both motors, Id say build a small tank by welding chains to each other and putting them over the tires. Could probably add in a pvc potato cannon to the front too…

i do lots of different things and me and a buddy wanted to build a mid engine atv 3 speed shifter craftsmachines if that makes sense. that tank idea is cool but i dont have chains and those cost money so imma make a drag mower with a 110cc 3 speed W reverse motor it has a go kart axle in the craftsman frame and im gonna put a yard machines front end in it steering column forward so i can use the yard machines steering. the craftsman hood mounts will be welded to the front of the yard machines front. ( old style with the thinner bolt on sides)

so i have another weird idea/Question, what if i where to take a 212cc side shaft motor ( i have one thats a cast out knocker) and turned it into a vertical shaft motor? could that be possible or would it give real bad issues like smoking and stuff an intake isnt a problem nor exhaust but i figured if i mounted it to run a vertical it would still get oil to the crank right? also the breather tube will point up. if i could do that predators make good HP and screaming rpms with some small mods that can be cheap. would it be possible or sensable?

I don’t think it would work without some serious modifications. The oil slinger would have to be re engineered, a new sump would need to be made to accommodate the rearranged oil fill port and dipstick, etc.
Really the best engines for that are a couple of flathead Briggs that were designed with 2 dipsticks and fill ports, one for either position, and the gc Hondas, but the sump still has to be changed I think. I would trade for a used vertical if that’s what you want but it’s your call, you could also route the belt with a twist like some of the later craftsman and Murray gts.

Y'all hear about "Stanley Black and Decker" buying 80% of MTD? Seems like more and more companies are getting owned by one big company. Probably why everything made nowadays are so similar. Sad

I just scored a 135$ sears suburban with the ohv tecumseh cast iron monster. And our jeep broke down on its way home down the street, because its of course a crystler. If anyone defends jeep cyrstler and dodge its because the hemi and AMC jeeps where of decwnt quality and the one we have is of course the worst built vehicle it breaks down every single time we drive it

yesterday i was at a festival in the next town over, i won a no hands pizza eating contest and got 70$ a tshirt and a picture on perillos wall and facebook! and then was riding my 50cc honda z50r looking at yard sales not much good. so i go down skinny road and, SKIIRTT! slam my brakes as i see a carport STUFFED with riders and a couple weird garden tractors walked away with a craftsman dyt4000 (GT) with a 3speed hi lo and a kholer vertical shaft motor with a twisted belt drive. ROTTEN JUNK and also included in the 50$ deal i scored a 6 speed manual craftsman with a 16hp turbo cool briggs, ive been looking for both tractors and i got both as a pair with hoods wheels motor transaxles seats etc they have been sitting for possibly years but both turn over and arent too bad. so now imma have me a craftsman race mower(GT) and craftsman mud mower(6speed). i plan on a honda gx340 with a 1-1 belt drive for the (GT)... i should stop rambling and save it for my budget tractor builds thread

Man..... I have been down in the back something bad. That's been the reason for my lack of presence. I have been able to sit for a while today, so I have been doing some catch up.

I wish I could help. Have you had an MRI on that lower back? I finally (in 2013, about 5 years after I started having problems) had my back fixed. What relief! Prayers for guidance and relief. Find a GOOD doc and do what he says.
Note: I waited too long really. I didn’t have insurance and waited until medicare kicked in to have the surgery. My right leg never recovered from the nerve damage. Sooner is better, IMO.

3 docs X-rays and mri. All say nerve paths appear clear. I have some arthritis and some degeneration of one disk Normal for my age and do physical therapy. Hard to do when all you can do is stand or lay down. I feel like something else is going on but doc doesn’t seem so on that. I feel I need a good pain reliever so I can work it out. Last time I was down took about 6-8 months to feel a little more normal. I feel that if this time takes too long to get better I’m done with the tractor modding. Maybe some other stuff too. This is year 3 of dealing with this off and on.

As for the nerves. It is all back and does not run down my leg (s). It’s all isolated in my lower right side of back. At times “spasm” when I sit or try to stand from sitting but it is pretty incapacitating with excruciating pain when it does. Next time I may be fine.

Welp it's been about a month since I've been on here. Not much happening besides living the college life. Everyone talks about it like all we do is party and get laid and I'm sure that's true for some but definitely not me. Lol! .......I'd prefer to not do either but the college life for me is spending roughly 65 hours a week doing school work.
But my communications class only last for 2 more weeks so I'm pretty happy about that! So hopefully I'll have the weekends off. Can't complain too much, I have the opportunity to go to college and not everyone gets to do that.
