| Hi all, I've been lurking off and on for a couple of years so I thought it was time to join the group. Looking out the window I see about 20 machines that would fit on this site. I like machines and have everything from the lowly craftsman mower to a couple of Struck dozers and a Case/Davis trencher (that will turn into a fun little machine). I've spent my life playing with mini bikes, go karts, racing karts, 3 wheelers, drag racers, off road trucks, and anything else that I could find. I'll try to help when I can and hopefully pass on a little tidbit now and then. Thanks, Dave
P.S. I said lowly craftsman mower BUT it is the riding mower that my dad bought new from Sears in 1974 (his first). So, it is nowhere near lowly to me.

| Welcome to the forum!
I think those struck mini dozers are neat, we'd definitely love to see them. | |

| Thanks, The better half knows the picture thing, not me, so I'll get her to take some pics. Funny story about my first Struck... I still have my original copy of the 1967 Popular Science with the multi page story on the then new Struck mini dozer. I had wanted one since then when a couple of years ago I found one on ebay. It had a great "buy it now" price and was in Pennsylvania. I thought "it's in PA, I'm in PA... how far away can it be". I pushed the button without thinking it over much. Well, I'm about as far as you can get in south east PA and the Struck was about as far as you can get in north west PA. (yep, opposite corners of the state) When my wife came home from work I asked if she would like to take a drive... she said yes. This was Friday. Saturday I got the money from the bank, cleaned out and packed up the S-10, and packed some snacks. Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m. we started our trip and got home that night at 11:00 p.m. A 17 hour trip that we laugh about every time I say "well, how far can it be". Yes, my wife is a real prize. Thanks for reading this, Dave | |

| Welcome! Looking forward to seeing some pics. My grandfather bought one of those mini dozers off a guy years ago and we still have it sitting in the back of the garage. Our's has been kind of hack jobbed though with a vertical shaft engine and trans from two different lawn mowers or something. Someone used part of the mower frames to mount everything in and bolted everything instead of welding it. Has hydro brakes but they are all messed up too so I never got it going. I think they were sold as a kit but I might be wrong. I know ours has a mounting plate for a horizontal engine with slotted holes and I think that would be the nicest way to go with either a wheel horse trans or a 633. Then it would be nice and rugged. Stretch also has one on here, but his was done with belt drive only and no transmission. So his can make 180 degree spins and run both tracks in opposite directions. | |
