| Hi I'm Dan and I love the world of mudding and off road mowers. I have an lt1000 with a 12.5 hp briggs and just swapped it out for an 18hp twin( still trying to get running) I have an spicer 6 speed and am working on trying to find bigger tires. Hmu with some cool suggestions on what mods I should do. Thanks! | |

| Thank you! Does the locked transaxle have a big effect on steering? Because I have an extra spicer and I was thinking about trying it | |

| Never tried it. I imagine on lose dirt or gravel it's good, so the other tire slip and the front tires grip but in snow you just go straight it's really hard to steer. It's a sacrifice of steering for the sake of traction, it's a risk I'd take tho. | |

| My group have all of their rears locked. We don't really have any issues steering. If it pushes in the corners a little, lean forward to give the front tires more weight... that's what I do anyway. | |

| Welcome to the fourms bud ive locked my spicer last year sometime and i dive my mower hard as in jumps and hard trails made for ATV's my Diff only broke when i tryed to pull a tree but i rekon that for mudding and offroading having a lock diff can be very helpful and steering wise it did want to go strait before i added 10pounds of weight to the front then it was a whole lot better | |

| I would defiantly lock the axle, that's me I'm putting lockers in my 820 with 30" Interco Intercepters and 27" Intercepters in the front. It's funny because it was gunna be my trail mower with 19" s in the back but know I'm moding it to work with 30" s! | |
