COVID-19 and Haspin 2020

As the weather gets warmer, we know that many of you are anxious to get out and go wheeling at Haspin Acres. It has been a month now since we were shut down by the public health officer, and we, too, are anxious to get back to business. We are working closely with the county commissioners to develop a plan that will gain us their approval to reopen the park as soon as possible.

We submitted our plan of action last week, and the commissioners will be meeting later this week to determine whether or not we can reopen, and under what terms we can reopen. One of their main issues is the number of people allowed in the park at one time. Going forward, it appears we will likely have to limit the number of customers we permit through the gate each day, at least for the immediate future. With this in mind, we have been discussing which options will work best in helping us to meet this likely requirement.

In order to prepare our customers for what may come, we would like to remind everyone that drastic changes are coming and to BE SURE to check our website or Facebook page BEFORE COMING TO THE PARK for updates on what to expect going forward.

We are currently looking at the prospect of requiring everyone to make an online reservation before coming to the park. If we implement this strategy, then anyone who shows up at the park without a reservation will, unfortunately, be turned away at the gate. In addition to the possibility of requiring online reservations, we will also need to implement many other changes that will affect nearly every aspect of how our park operates. So please, BEFORE making a trip to Haspin Acres, check our website or Facebook page for updated information on current policies and procedures.

Also, please let us state for the record that we are very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause our customers. If we could go back to business as usual, we certainly would. However, now that Covid19 is here, we must implement new ways of doing business. Please bear with us as we navigate these uncharted waters as best we can.

As of today, indiana lifted the stay at home order. Businesses will slowly start coming back. For how long the order will be lifted is the question.

Still no update on showers, but restrooms are OPEN.
